Set at the beginning of Shifting Roots

Shredtail was a ShadowClan cat who lived under the reigns of Flowerstar, Ripplestar, and Marshstar (all canon cats from CotC). He got his name after his tail had to be amputated after he took out three warriors at once during Ripplestar's gathering ambush. He was a highly respected warrior and a candidate for Marshstar's second deputy, but after his daughter was killed by the RiverClan deputy Maplepelt (not a canon character), he vowed revenge. He slowly taught himself to swim, and after moons of waiting, he snuck onto RiverClan territory, took out the Warrior guarding the camp that night, and murdered Maplepelt's son in his sleep. However, the RiverClan cats woke up and attacked him, leaving him with a deep gut wound. He managed to get back to ShadowClan territory, but died before reaching the camp. His body was found the next day by a patrol.

Cloudheart and Brambletooth are Finchflight's moms!

They will probably not appear very much, if at all, in the books. That's just due to their age, both have passed by the time Clouded Moon starts. If we ever write any pre-CM material, they will make an appearance as a Keeper (Cloud) and Ranger (Bramble).
