TED Circle about 'Our Memories' hosted by Merrative.com We will be screening a TED Talk - What foods did your ancestors love? By Aparna Pallavi Join the video call link by clicking on βRequest to Joinβ: http://bit.ly/food-merrative Every Thursday at 9 PM, we will be screening some very interesting TED talks under the TED Circles initiative. This is followed by an intellectual discussion on 3 points from the video. . . . About the TED Talk: Around the world, Indigenous food cultures vanish because of industrialized agriculture and a shifting, Western-influenced concept of the ideal diet. Food researcher Aparna Pallavi explores why once-essential culinary traditions disappear from people's lives and memories almost without notice -- and serves up a subtle solution to revitalize our connection to the foods we eat. . . . About Speaker: Aparna Pallavi researches and writes about uncultivated foods available in India's forest, Indigenous people's knowledge and culture around them. In 2006, she was the recipient of the National Foundation for India Fellowship for studying the female angle of farmer suicides in India. Pallavi is currently drawing up a plan of action for reviving Mahua as a food in India, which she hopes to start working on in the coming Mahua season in March 2021. . . . . . .
