Man.
I made this journal for my ex for Christmas in 2020. When I say I made it, I mean I conceptualized the idea, digitally drew the cover and inside art, printed them out, wrapped the covers, sourced the paper, gilded the designs and bound the book. All of it. I did all of it.
It was a book that proudly displayed their enby and ace pride, and incorporated their Celtic religious beliefs and included prayers to their patron, Brigid.
I put so much work into this. I whispered prayers as I bound it.
And then our relationship went REALLY south. It takes two to fight, but it also takes two to communicate. I was willing to do the latter, but they only paid communication lip service. It all just recently crashed down around me. I wanted to talk to them calmly about how a while ago they admitted to manipulating me, and I wanted to talk about that and hopefully we could both grow from it. But instead, they didn't even want to have that talk with me, they said awful things to me, blocked me, and then told our mutual 'friends' warped and twisted lies and said that I had said them. And my ex made sure to target each and every one of their personal fears. I'm still blown away with how evil their true colours turned out to be...
I don't know what's become of this book. I don't care to know to be honest. I don't want to hear if it's been burned in a fire or violently shredded or lovingly kept, my name scratched out.
I don't regret making it though. I think this shows the kind of person I am -- the level that I can care for a person, and how I can craft something so personal as to be magic. And I refuse to regret that because of one awful person.
Also of note: Even though my Ex has treated me like scum, I refuse to stoop to their level, so I've blocked out their full last name, even though it means you can't see all the beautiful lettering I did.
[ID: a six panel black and white comic of Gerry Keay, Martin Blackwood, and Jon Sims from the Magnus archives. In the first panel, it shows the three of them in bed, asleep. Jon is hugging Martin from behind, and Gerry is off to the side, facing away from them. There's a sad look on Gerry's face. In the second panel, there's a smaller cutout on the top, showing a closeup of Gerry's face. He becomes progressively more visibly upset before opening his eyes. In the bottom of the panel it shows Gerry looking sadly at Martin and Jon. In the third panel, Gerry sits sadly on the edge of the bed, looking down while his hands rest on his knees. In the background you can see Martin and Jon sleeping. In the fourth panel, a cutout in the upper left shows Gerry looking sadly back at Jon and Martin. The rest of the panel shows Martin sleeping peacefully, and you can see the corner of Jon's face behind him. In the fifth panel, two cutouts show martin waking up. Then he smiles at Gerry and opens his arms for Gerry to cuddle with him. Jon's arm is visible wrapped around Martin's waist. In the sixth panel, two cutouts show Gerry smiling at Martin and then crawling back into bed. The final image is Martin and Gerry smiling and hugging while asleep. Jon is visible behind Martin, still cuddling him from behind. /End ID]

[ID: a digital illustration of Jon, Martin, and Gerry from the Magnus Archives. Jon is on the left, holding martin's hand and looking off to the side. He's a syrian man with greying hair and brown skin, which is peppered with pink scars. He's wearing grey slacks and a green sweater vest over a grey button up shirt. He is wearing black loafers and green socks with an eye pattern. Martin is in the center, holding hands with both Jon and Gerry. He is a fat man with tan skin and short wavy chestnut hair. There are freckles on his face, and he's wearing a soft light blue sweater and greyish blue tights. He's wearing blue sneakers and socks with a heart pattern and looking at Jon fondly. Gerry is on the right, leaning over to the left, smiling. He is a pale man with long dyed black hair, a long dark grey trenchcoat, black jeans, a grey t-shirt, and jong black boots with lots of buckles. He has eye tattoos on the joints of his hands and on the corner of his jaw, and he's holding a rose in the hand that isn't holding Martin's. There is a pattern of pink and yellow eyed behind them. /End ID]

YOU SHOULD HAVE RAISED A BABY GIRL / I SHOULD HAVE BEEN A BETTER SON
[ID: A digital sketch of Gerry from the Magnus Archives. They are looking up and to the left, their face in profile with their back to the viewer, showing the eye tattoos on their shoulders and along their spine. Their hair and septum, lip, and eyebrow piercings are red, and the eye tattoos are green, which is the only color in the piece. Around them, a cloud of eyes stares. Text, handwritten at the top in white, reads "mama, we all go to hell" in all caps. /End ID]
Hands
Words: 571
Characters: Michael Distortion, Gerry Keay, Martin Blackwood, Jon Sims
Relationships: poly Michael/Gerry/Martin/Jon
Summary: Michael holds tension in its hands, and Gerry might be the first person to try to massage it out.
The door had been a part of their flat for a few weeks now, the curling fractal swirl of the woodgrain becoming dizzying if too closely inspected.
Michael didn't always choose to come through the door, sometimes appearing hovering behind Martin as he cooked or long fingers pulling away Jon's papers from behind him without the telltale squeal and creak that usually heralded its arrival.
