I’m reading the vampire lestat currently (yes I’m only on the second book stfu) and Lestats mastiffs ☹️☹️ i know i smack talk him and make fun of him but truly i love him so much ughhhh
Character study on Lestat De Lioncourt (book one and two)
He speaks on goodness a lot. A good human, a good vampire. He strives for it. He's a dreamer. He has huge imagination and is so strong to carry on. To endure and keep going. He doesn't listen he doesn't abide by the rules, especially ones that he doesn't understand. We see this even in his human years. He doesn't want to settle for his lot, he strives for bigger and better than what he's been born to.
He's also not shown love from a young age. There's always this constant theme surrounding him that him being himself is too much for people around him. He's conditioned to believe it so he masks a lot. I thought so after reading the line."Lestat you must remember you were the gentlest of them all." In IWTV
I think you saw it especially in later parts with Louis. So Louis doesn't see his true self and the reflection of him in the first book isn't true to the Lestat that we know. We see little glimpse of him but then he covers it. He has abandonment issues as well i think, i think it starts with Mangus after turning him and then it keeps happening. Nicki and Gabrielle leave him so he deals with it by being more controlling so no one leaves him after. I do think he does things without thinking. He's naive.
