Maybe because he is inspired by Bonifacy-

When I was sketching ideas on how his head is gonna look like I took inspiration from "przygody kota filemona" on how the cats are drawen, espiecally on how Bonifacy is drawen

Expect I wanted to make Narinder more sharp and have long ears + have the scar on his face, BUT YOU GET THE IDEA.

Craig Cuttlefish from the game Splatoon is a war veteran who served in the Great Turf War. He used to be a captain of the Squidbeak Splatoon. He’s a grandfather to Callie and Marie. Craig likes to rap and eat botamochi (or crabby cakes in the English version).

Bonifacy from the cartoon The Adventures of Filemon the Cat (pl. Przygody kota Filemona) is a black cat, who’s saddled with playing the mentor to a small white kitten. He’s not super happy about his role, but he’s always ready to show off his superior knowledge. He’s from an old Polish cartoon.
