So from my previous post we already know about Chaos and the reason he changed his form.
Now onto Knuckles and Tikal!
Knuckles is the last Echidna spared from the last affect of Chaos curse that inflicted the last of his people. His father Yunuen the previous Gaurdian begged Chaos to save his son.
Chaos grabted him his wish and took Knuckles into the Emerald while the Echidnas where wiped out keeping him asleep for many centuries. He woke up in the new world, a toddler with only a couple of words of where he was and why was there.
"Emerlad servant, protect and gaurd this Gem of Chaos till your last breath"
Knuckles didn't know how to read or write until Sonic and Tails showed up. Since Chaos dumped him there and went back to sleep in the emerald he had to raise himself.
He taught himself to hunt, keep clean, and to forage via the ancient art on the walls and in the abandoned homes. He's very much a homebody at the beginning before adventuring. He will pick up after his friends like a fretting hen if they leave a mess.
When he starts adventuring officially he started to hide the emerlad in creative ways around the island to make it hard to find. He wanted to be a the protector but he also wanted to see and experience the world he's been disconnected from.
This changes after Chaos and Tikal stuck around after SA1. They would gaurd in his stead giving him room to do what he wants and ends up developing a habit of picking up supernatural stray after a while. (The three Ghosts from the werehog short, Shahra from the Seven rings, some of the boom boo who took a liking to him. Ect)
Knuckles and Chaos have a tense relationship after its revealed he was the reason Knuckles is the only Echidna left. Chaos after realizing his wrongs of his past and stuck in a cycle of rage after SA1 and the Nicky Parlouzer arc does his best to repair his relationship with him with mixed success.
Tikal the Echidna Ghost
Tikal was very adventurous when she was alive often leaving the Empire to wander far. Her father preferred this as it kept her from interfering for his plans of expansion to the empire. Tikal hated war, and fighting for the sake of power.
When she was still alive she came across the temple of the Master Emerald where Chaos had been banished to. They had become friends and Tikal was helping Chaos come to terms with devouring his brother hoping that with time he can spit the other god out so that Gaia may accept him back.
This clearly did not happen that way after her father discovered the Emerald. He destroyed the land of the Chao and Chaos feeling betrayed by Tikal and enraged by the senseless deaths demanded Tikal as tribute and placed a curse upon the Echidnas.
They had tried to trick Chaos to save Tikal and take the Emerald causing Chaos tobecome perfect Chaos and destroying the empire along with a majority of its people. Gaia along with the Emerald gave Tikal the power to entrap Chaos in its gem prison at the price of her life and freedom.
She actually is an excellent fighter and would later mentor Knuckles when he wanted to expand his skills sets to protect his friends and the emerald better. Tikal had become very disillusioned after SA1 realizing her way of thinking merely perpetuated the cycle of pain by being so passive and is trying to change with some.....difficulties.
Tikal was actually semi aware the entire time as a warden to Chaos. Thus had watched her people die out via the curse as well as Knuckles being taken by Chaos and put to sleep until he deemed it safe enough to put him out. She would fall in and out of sleep and when she slept Chaos would awaken but both eternally chained.
Tikal is still a ghost and while she may not look like one she clearly is suffering the affects of being one. It wasn't as bad as when in the Emerald as the power of Chaos and the Master Emerald kept the it at bay for thousands of years. But now that she's spending more time outside she realizes how....monstrous she's becoming. It started as small things like her eyes dulling or turning red and yellow, her teeth becoming black. It changed to strange contortions, her thoughts become distorted or forgetting things about herself. She had become more violent too often emulating Chaos past rage when people don't wish to listen to her.
Tikal is most of afraid to loose her sense of self and takes to staying inside the emerald to prolong it as much as possible.

If your still asking for headcannons. I like the idea of Team Dark having a sleep over. Shadow hadnt had one since he was on the ARK, Rouge never really got experience having friends over for that and Omega was a born robot s he def did.t ergo Shadow 'casually' asking them to come over to rectify that immediately. Omega is both the snack holder and makeshift blanket pillow fort.
the moment, the absolute moment, when Yusaku finds Ai, he proposes. Human style. Not... AI/YGO style. He mightnât have a ring but in very clear terms, he lays out the fact that he wants to spend the rest of his life with Ai, side by side, not just as partners but romantic partners
Ai accepts, squealing his little head off
and thus begins something Yusaku really should have seen coming: Ai immediately wants a party and a ceremony and all that stuff and Yusaku was like âI know I meant it like that, but I really didnât mean it like that like thatâ
but too bad, Ai wants something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue!
it doesnât exactly come to fruition but they at the very least do something in private, though Ai wanted an audience but heâs left his mark on Yusaku and thatâs all that matters, now even strangers know that Yusaku is Off The Market Thank You Very Much
granted, Iâm not sure what that something is but I like the idea of a ring that Yusaku wears as a pendant which later transitions to his finger when heâs a little bit older/not suspiciously young
it probably has an inscription on it saying âto love peopleâ or âto love one anotherâ or something shortânâsweet like that
Judai is something of a wandering hero, unlike most which are tied to one city or region he just goes all over the place and is something of an urban legend (no one can agree on his powers-something to do with darkness, something to do with summoning (a) monster(s), able to give himself non human attributes(wings/claws), or his appearance-brown eyes, gold eyes, dual coloured orange and teal eyes). (Plot twist is that all of those are right, Judai is uhh, complicated to say the least)
Jim is a paleontologist. The pair meet when Jimâs dig site is attacked by looters and Judai saves him by driving them off(cause unfortunately one cranky croc wasnât nearly enough to drive all of them off).
Jim is almost instantly curious and intrigued by Judai, as it turns out he DOES have powers of his own but, the ability to read ones soul is not in fact all that useful when youâre digging up fossils and other ancient things. Judai is interesting to him as he has seemingly TWO souls inhabiting one body, and frankly neither of them are like anything Jimâs ever encountered before.
Judai likewise does find Jim interesting cause most people donât realize that he has two souls so this guy is curious (also he has a croc for a pet who is neat)
He convinces Judai to hang around a bit longer (which isnât all that hard once Judai realizes he has food, plus Judai thinks Karen is neat), juuuust in case the looters come back, and they hit it off.
Annnnd this is about where my brain kinda died and I donât know where to go from here. ^^; But yeah, a wandering hero with mysterious powers and a paleontologist that can read peopleâs souls(and possibly talk to animals as well). Maybe something valuable of Jimâs is stolen and they team up to get it back idk.
Leave an AU and a pairing in my ask and Iâll give you the plot of the fic I wonât write for it.

Tenko and Hana take a leap of faith changing their lives for better or for worse. Along the way they uncover many secrets hidden away, try to find their way in life, and deal with their new eccentric roommates and their even more eccentric friends.
But at least their doing it together.
(An AU of what would have happened if AFO hadn't interfered with the Shimura family's lives. (Cause I refuse to believe he had no part in that horror). This is my take of what could have happened via what little we saw of the family.)
Chapter 2: What A Day...And Itâs Not Even Over yet
If this was going to be a new normal, Tenko would rather take his chances and hide from society back inside the apartment becoming a shut in. Itâs as if the universe was like âFuck Youâ to him and his sister the moment they stepped out.
First they missed  the first two busses. Not even just one, but both of them, to get to the station. So they both had to run all the way to the station so they could make the train.
Then there was a villain attack along the way and the crowd watching the Hero and Villain go at it. (Is that the new upcoming hero Mirko? Sheâs moving around like a frenzied rabbit keeping the guy disoriented.) Tenko would have been more happy to see the fight if we weren't worried about getting to school on time. ( Which really was more about keeping as much stress off his sister as possible sheâs got enough on her plate besides worrying about him.)
Navigating the crowd was a nightmare and a half, no one wanted to move, half of them were being rude assholes and the other half kept hesitating cause they didnât want to look away from the fight. Hana nearly tasted dirt more than a couple times and Tenko sure as hell did taste the dirt with being shoved around.
They finally make it to the station only for the ticket machine to break and them missing the train having to wait nearly an hour for another one. Thus making them late.
Hana tried to lighten the atmosphere by suggesting they go buy snacks while they waited, only for Tenko to tell her he was broke cause he spent the last of his money on house items they needed, and she herself had forgotten her wallet. Meaning they donât even have money for the train to begin with.
Wonderful.
They did have a bit of luck in Hana digging through her bag and finding enough change to get them on the train, but she would probably have to ask one of their roommates to get her her wallet when they wake up. She paid for the tickets and they sat in silence on their phones.
Tenko saw that his phone battery was in the red and went to get his charger âŠ..that he didnât bring . So he just wasted what little he had on mobile games. He threw the damn thing in his bag and scowled for the next hour, as the rage bubbled up inside him and he stewed like a pressure cooker. The train comes and one again he's surrounded by people, who were far too close and pushy as they packed into the train like sardines.
He could feel his very thin rope of patience fraying quickly. He hated being touched, there were too many people, and today was NOT working in their favor, he has to go back to school in the middle of the year, they moved all the way into the city in a stranger's house he had never met, and its too much for the first fucking day-
Hana reached out and grabbed his hand, squeezing lightly and he throttled the urge to scratch at his face and neck. His sister hated it and it made her distressed. He stewed in stillness instead, thinking positive. At least they were together.
Not.
Tenko was seriously contemplating homicide right now. He was jam packed alone on the train to the new school he had to go to, his sister got dropped off at her Highschool two stops before so he had to suffer alone now. This was pure crap and what's worse because of his height made him easy to push and shove around, and God help him Why is everyone TOUCHING HIM?
This was the start of what Tenko was sure to be a Hellish day.
Fuck.
The hiss of the doors alerted him to freedom and he clawed his way out nearly knocking over an elementary school girl. From what he could see she apparently had a similar plan but was using the wall to avoid death by stampede. Apologizing under his breath, Tenko pulled her up and then shoved her through the door before following. He yelled out another apology as he ran, noticing the time.
A plain faced boy passed him wearing the same uniform, his face more panicked as he ran to get to school. HE was a bit weird out by the boys muttering of wanting to avoid his mother's fly swats.
More and more students passed by him as he slowed down wearing the same uniform as him. He couldn't help but stare at how much more unique looking everyone was in comparison to the private school he went to. A sense of more freedom filled the air and the students seemed more lively. They seemed pretty happy and content rubbing their good mood to everyone today.
Maybe today wonât be as bad as he thought-
He was shoved to the side very roughly by a much taller bastard of a kid with dark red brown hair with needle like appearance and gold eyes. He smirked condescendingly down at Tenko who glared back up at him. He began to walk away but Tenko wasn't about to let him. Nope that was the last fucking straw that burnt up the rest of his self restraint.
He couldnât help his lips twitching, wanting to stretch into a smile as a thought passed through his head.
Hello, Misplaced Aggression.
"Hey bastard what was that for?" Tenko was snarling at the now surprised boy, assholes like this think they're so damn mighty until someone barks back. But they messed with him on the wrong day.
"You were in my way shortly, learn to make room for your betters!" The Tall Bastard, as Tenko now deemed him, had gathered himself after he realized Tenko wasn't backing down. His two friends flanking him to try and further intimidate him.
Tenko just scoffed and wondered when they started cloning cliches. Different schools have the same bullies, how predictable.
The ones back home were scarier anyway, they actually knew who his dad was.
"Oh I'm sorry your majesty, I didn't realize you have a Caution: Wide Load sign on you."
The silence was too beautiful, he should have recorded it, or took out his phone to take a picture (he was still mad at leaving his charger at home). The Tall Bastardâs face was turning a funny shade of red from humiliation and anger. His friends looked wary and looked at their leader before backing away slowly.
âYou looking down on me you puny bastard!â Tall Bastard picked Tenko up by the scruff of his collar and Tenko could almost hear a choir cause it was as if his prayers were answered and someone decided to send him a punching bag.
If thatâs the case thenâŠ
A yelp that sounded like a came from the mouth of a dog came out of the Tall Bastards mouth and he dropped Tenko to cover and hold his injured crotch from where Tenko kicked him.
One doesnât play fair with those who wonât give the same treatment.
As soon as he was on the ground Tenkoâs leg shot out to kick Tall Bastard on the back of the head making him hit the ground. He picked up his backpack where it had fallen and went to walk away.
âHey asshole I wasnât done with you-!â
âWait Soga! You canât get in trouble again. You could get expelled this time.âOne of the friends spoke up, he had a reptilian appearance and on the short side. He grabbed his friend Sogaâs arm to keep him from attacking Tenko. âLet's Just leave besides I get the feeling this kid isnât all there if yanno what I mean.â
Tenko felt a scowl pull at his lips at the remark which caused the reptilian human to hide behind Tall Bastards-Sogaâs- body.
The two boys stared at each other down before Soga tsked and spat on the ground. âFine whatever, heâs not fucking worth it anyway.âThey walked to the school entrance, though Tenko noticed with slight satisfaction that Soga was limping as he did.
It didnât help the bitterness that burned in his lungs as the words âNot worth itâ , ran in his head. The small fight didnât help his bad mood and he grumbled all the way to the Staff office as how unsatisfied he felt.
He got scolded for being late on his first day of transferring by a bulbous looking teacher. He was just in time for the 2nd period to begin but they werenât lenient on tardies.
And no, you canât use a villain attack as an excuse. Asshole.
Tenko looked sourly down at his schedule and the added papers on top of it. Apparently his sister had asked the staff to give him a list of clubs he could join this late in the year. He and Hana transferred to their new schools in the middle of fall, a really weird time but they didnât have much of a choice. Ugh he didnât even do clubs back home, why would she think he would now?
He trudged all the way to homeroom and was met with the Class representative, a lanky boy with a split mouth and slim face. When he spoke his voice contained a slight hiss and small bumps of flesh along with extra needle-like rows of teeth shows. A snake-like quirk it seems. The boy was polite and said u anything to ask him.
The only seat available was the one in the cornerback near the classroom closet. Another good thing that happened today seems, best place to pretend you're doing work and take a nap. He had a few minutes before 2nd period officially started which was physical education and all the boys were changing. Since he hadnât gotten his uniform for that yet he was allowed to sit out or stay in the classroom.
Obviously he decided to stay and the class representative went to go change himself while Tenko worked on setting up his desk to take a nap on.
At the corner of his eye he spotted a strange looking teenager with bandages all over his arms and neck. His hair was black in a way that clearly looked dyed, and his eyes were almost a luminous blue. Something about him kept nagging at Tenkoâs brain. He decided to just go back to minding his business and didnât even know why some random kid caught his attention anyway.
The moment every one left he laid his head on his desk and knocked solidly out.
-----
Tenko and Hana were walking home when a man with white hair stood in front of them, he smiled kindly at them and for some reason Tenko was having a hard time putting a face to this stranger or even a name. Is he new around here? Did he just move in? Tenko didnât hear the others talking about anyone new in the neighborhood.
The man was talking to them about something but Tenko canât remember what he was saying. The words just sounded like noise.
He reached out to him with a hand but Hana put herself in front of Tenko and started screaming about a pervert and calling for help. Whatever ease Tenko had felt disappeared when she did and followed her lead bringing the attention of whatever adults in the area to them.
Hearing a familiar dog-like growl, Tenko felt relief as he saw Mikkuns mother stomp up to them and the man backing up as she interrogated him on what he was doing with them. Getting vague answers she tells him she has never seen him around here before, putting her body right in front of them blocking their view of the man.
The words became a blur again and whatever he said seemed to pacify her but then Mikkuns mom was leading them home. She was talking to herself, french accent thick with anger and suspicion as she was going to tell the other neighborhood parents about this.
His own mom opened the door demurely as if waiting to receive bad news and apologize. It hurts Tenko to know she was already suspecting that he got in trouble for something.
To her surprise and fear Mikkunâs mom was talking about how a strange man had begun talking with her children but Mikkun did not recall anyone moving in recently. She was going to ask the other mothers but warned his mom Nao to keep an eye out.
They ended up receiving praise from the French woman for their quick thinking and instincts before getting head pats from her paws.
She bidded them a good day before marching off intending to go warn the others parents.
Mikkuns mom was pretty cool.
Both kids were brought into a hug by their mom who was so happy they were okay before ushering them to the living room and rushed to go talk to grandma and grandpa.
Tenko wondered why he canât seem to recall this mans face-
âShimura-san, Shimura-sanâŠâSomebody was shaking him, ripping him from his memory. Tenko blearily looked up to see the class president looking down at him in concern. Shooting up from his desk thinking he slept while class came back, but was happy to see it was just the class President there. Seeing his gym uniform showed he had come from where the class actually was to find him.
âSorry about that Shimura-san, a man had come to school saying he bought something from home that you forgot..â A shadow image of a taller man with slicked back hair and cold eyes flashed in his mind making him shudder. A wave of fear ran through him and all he could think was pain. The President looked concerned at Tenko reaching his hands out as if to prevent him from falling over but Tenko stepped out of his reach.
âItâs fine, I wasnât doing anything anyway. Who did you say came by?âHe let out a shuddering breath and gathered himself in case it was who he thought it was. The President's tongue slipped out as if tasting the air before letting out a sign.
âA Shirakumo Oboro? Do you wish for me to tell him you're busy? I will if you want.â That was surprising, most people wouldnât lie to an adult so blatantly like that and not for someone else. It made Tenko feel a bit awkward but also a little happy.
âNo itâs fine I know who that is. Thank youâŠ.â Tenko trailed off. A flush of heat hit his cheeks once he realized he has no idea what the presidentâs name is. It got even worse one the other taller boy realized and laughed softly. The president led him out of the class to the front entrance.
âUroko Sogen. Now letâs hurry, there isnât much time before the rest of the class comes back.â
Making it to the door he tried not to look too surprised to see one of Hana and his new roommates, or really he should be calling them the actual tenants, here at his school. The man was on the taller side with tan skin and a scar on his head, his hair flowed around white and fluffy like a cloud even though it was pulled back into a ponytail.
Blue eyes caught Tenkoâs form and waved at him like an enthusiastic idiot.Â
Which had the opposite effect it intended, making Tenko want to do an 180 and go back to class.
âLil Shimura-chan!â
Actually never mind heâs just going to go back to class.
âNO WAIT, I GOT YOUR CHARGER!âThe older man screeched, panicked seeing Tenko actually maneuver to go back inside. Tenko looked confused and a little suspicious that the man came all the way here just to deliver his charger.
âHana texted me saying she forgot some things at the apartment, and that you also forgot this. I wasnât working so-â He went to one of the multitude of pockets he had and pulled it out letting it fall gently into a confused Tenkoâs waiting hands.
âThe first day can be rough, and from what I heard from Hana it was far from ideal for the both of ya. It ainât much but I can take you two somehwere to eat after sheâs done training? I know a place with great Sushi.â It was a bit silent after that but Tenko felt his lips twitching into a small smile. Shirakumo didnât have to do that, he could have just dropped off his sister's stuff and be done.
It felt nice to be considered.
âI think I would like that.â The smile he got from Shirakumo was downright blinding, seriously did he employ the sun into his teeth why was it so bright?!Â
âAlright! Iâll leave you to it then. Have a good day Lil Shimura-san!â The older man waved at them before taking off on a cloud like a dragon ball parody character. Huh so that what his quirk was, he wonder how he implements that into his hero work-
âShimura-san class is about to start.â Tenkoâs thoughts were interrupted before nodding at the boy as they went back in. He couldnât help but squeeze the charger in his pocket, happy that some good things came out of today at the very least.
They got into class and all the boys had finished changing back into their regular uniforms. His eyes caught the blued eyed black haired kid again and was shocked to find he had piercings in his ears, nose, and lip. He couldnât believe the school even allowed that. The other kid looked up before giving him a wink flustering Tenko.
Distracted he didnât see the small girl trying to get into class and tripped right over her knocking them both over.
Dammit he jinxed himself.
Tenko quickly got up and pulled her up to her feet. She was so small for a second he could have mistaken her for a younger elementary student. Her hair was a pinkish red and she reminded him of cherub from those paintings but without the wings.
âAh Iâm sorry-!â They both started and it became a babbled mess that the president broke up since they were in front of the door. The girl sat in the front seat looking down at her now dirty uniform, and Tenko winced before deciding to pay her back later for that.
The class filled in and sat around talking to each other. He tried to ignore the occasional glances his way from his new classmates and especially that bastard with the glowy eyes.
A heavy knocking and the class stood up as this ridiculous amazon of a woman walked into the door. She was clearly built under her suit and skirt and looked more like she would fit in a fighting ring than she would as a teacher. Her hair long purple pink, and eyes that looked shiny and red.
She looked even bigger as they sat down.
âHelloooo class!âAnd Loud, she was very loud, it grated on Tenkoâs ears a bit âNow Iâm sure you all were gossiping about it during gym, but Iâm a say it again anyway. We have a new classmate with us.â She looked at Tenko and invited him up and damn he hated this. He trudged along slowly to the front as the teacher clapped her hands.
âLetâs make this quick, we have free time and Iâm sure your classmates are excited to get to know you. Why donât you tell everyone your name, what you like, and your quirk as an ice breaker?â
Her voice became softer as she handed him the chalk. His classmates leaned in excited to gossip or rip into him the moment he was done and Tenko felt like he was in the spotlight. He wanted to puke. It would have been fine if she didnât mention the damn quirk thing. Tenko was hoping to avoid that a little longer.
So much for good things happening, right back where he started. A familiar rage boiled inside him, or it could be the stomach acid from his anxiety. His hand shook a bit as he wrote his name down slowly trying to buy himself some time. He looked at the board hoping for some answers but got now. Resigned, he put it down and turned to his excited classmates.
Sogen, Dye job with blue eyes and the small cherub girl were the only ones who looked subdued.
âIâm Shimura Tenko, I like video games and syrup covered mochi,â He took a breath and decided to rip it off like a bandaid. They would find out sooner or later anyways.
Chapter 1: Our New Normal
"Tenko!" The familiar voice of his sister pulled him away from his game of hero with Mikkun and Tomo-chan. His older sister was running towards them with a mischievous smile and then roared. This caused the other two to let out fake shrieks and hid behind him. He was happy his sister finished with her after school studies to play. Dad rarely lets her come out and play since she's the oldest.
"HAHAHA! WE MEET AGAIN HERO!" Hana cackled as she took on a villainous voice making her hands claw like. "This time we shall settle the score and I will be victorious!"
Tenko smirked and threw his arm out and wide with Mikkun and Tomo flanking him. His sister was now floating making her air fly looking like a true lil villain. He didn't have his quirk yet but he knew how his sisters worked. Tomo had speakers in his arms that released little sound blasts and Mikkun had a Afghan hound quirk which made him agile and taller.
"Never fear, for I am here! Your reign of terror ends today villain." Tenko then told Tomo to send out a blast to disorient Hana and he and Mikkun took off right after he did. His sister let out a yelp but quickly flew above them to get the jump on them just like he wanted.Â
Right in the reach of his hands.
His hands reached for her ankles to pull her down so Mikkun can tickle her into submission. But Hana banked at the last moment to grab Tomo by his armpits and suddenly she was back on the ground and he was floating. She grabbed his ankle during his surprise and swung him like oe. of those athletic women during the Olympics and chucked him right into Tenko and Mikkun.
Tenko wasn't fast enough but held out his arms and caught Tomo and the 3 fell down into a heap groaning. Hana skipped over to the whining pile and out her foot on them crowing in victory.Â
He looked up to ask for another go after his sister got quiet but frowned when he saw her looking to the side creeped out. Tenko turned his head and saw a tall man watching him, he had never seen that man before around here. The park is usually just the kids.Â
The man was looking right at them.
Tenko quickly pushed Tomo off despite his complaints and asked if they could go to Mikkuns house for snacks. Everyone agreed even if Mikkun and Tomo didn't know why the Shimuras wanted to leave so suddenly but they didn't question it.Â
Hana took Tenkos hand but he couldn't help but look back at the smiling man and realized he couldn't see the upper part of his face.
------
'"TenkoâŠ.Tenko!"He groaned and pulled the pillow over his head to block out the voice trying to wake him from his slumber and back into this horrid waking hell. He kicked at the voice to leave him be and was satisfied when he was left alone. Slowly feeling sleep reworking to reclaim him Tenko let his guard down and let out a shrill yelp when he was suddenly floating off the coach he was sleeping on.
His vision blurry from sleep he still glared at his older sister face for forcing him up.
âYou canât sleep in all day you have class!â
âWhy do I have to still go to class? I donât want to be near those assholes.â The ones who saw him as less than a person, worthless, inhuman. It made Tenkoâs blood boil, and now he was awake, cranky. His sister was dressed in her new uniform for High School.Â
Fuck those bastards, he and Hana left so why does he have to go back to school?
âCause you're only 13, you still have 5 more years until you can escape an education. Look I know its not ideal, but I tried to find the friendliest reputed school. So you can make friends or at least not be treated like when we where back home.â Hana suddenly looked tired and it painfully reminded Tenko of their current situation. The bags under her eyes from her own restless sleep made him sober up quick.
â.....Fine put me down, Iâll go get ready.â His sister perked up and he was gently dropped back down onto the couch. He stretched out his back and walked to the bathroom with his bag of clothes. Hana went to the kitchen area to finish their lunches and what he could assume breakfast.
Tenko felt weird in this apartment, they were staying with someone in the city that he never met before but his sister had. It made him feel uneasy, his skin crawling, he felt like an intruder here.Â
Wetting his hair and shaking out the black locks, he tried to make some attempt at making it look decent before getting dressed. His new school uniform was made of cheaper material and was dark green instead of the black. In a twist of irony he felt more comfortable in these clothes than his old uniform.
The bag hung from his fingers as he put it next to the couch he had been sleeping on and folded the blanket and pillow putting them away.Â
Hana was cursing behind him and he quickly went to save their breakfast before it burned. She tends to burn things when she gets stressed. Tenko took the chopsticks from her hands and urged her back to making the lunches. He eyed the amount and realized she was probably cooking breakfast for the other three in the apartment.
Tenko scraped the burning mess into the garbage before restarting the egg omelets filling them with seaweed and cheese. Falling into a rhythm with his sister as they prepped. The other three meals were put into the microwave so they could heat up when they got their asses out of bed. Late time work must be a pain.
âIt feels weird.â Tenko murmured to his sister as they ate their breakfast. Their bags ready for school and their lunches tucked away. It felt normal but everything was to out of sorts to feel normal. This wasnât their home, this wasnât their usual things, or-
âI know. But it could be the new normal, if we let it. If you donât feel comfortable I can go look for a job and find a place just for us.â He winced at the thought. A job on top of school and training? Hana would run herself ragged even if he knew she wouldnât hesitate or regret it.
âNo this is fine, just until we graduate. We can make do.â
âIt wonât be forever, I promise.â
âI know. It just still feels weird, I keep expectingâŠ.âHe made hand motions as he finished off his meal. Hana nodded and placed a hand over her heart, nervous but excited. âItâs a new life, a new opportunity. I donât think it's supposed to feel like new normal right out the gate. But we can do it.â
