bit more aiballposting. my toxic trait is i do find something strangely a little heartwarming about vrains's ending bc like. i'd argue vrains more than a lot of the other series does feel like god it sucks to be the protagonist. like i feel like s2 but especially vs kusanagi goes into how yusaku as playmaker has to put his self aside and exist for the world rather than the self. even if that takes everything from him. even if it leaves him miserable.
(and you could also say something about how revolver compares there and soulburner contrasts but that's not the point of htis post)
so like. from that lens, there's...something a bit nice to me about how at the end of season 3, he finally leaves. we're not living for the world anymore, we're living for ourselves/trying to pursue what the heart wants.
and what the heart wants is ai.
