Breath of fire 4 deserves more love, so today I hit that nostalgic core with this fanart. If something can best FF7 or Chrono Trigger, maybe it could be Bof IV. Capcom is god level at doing pixel sprites.  I can't stand how there aren't more games like this being produced; if they reached a peak in terms of art and storytelling, why deviating this much?  Companies forced themselves to get into 3d stuff and the golden era didnt last long enough... in terms of aesthetics I always wondered why would these people cant notice how impersonal, artificial, unnatural the new techniques look like. Hand made pixelart of these retro games are full of emotion and I rapidly connect with it.  I appreciate 3d but even today, I feel there's a bit of "uncanny valley" in it, that makes me feel that it lacks soul.
