I never got to finish even the first season of riders of berk before I lost access to it when I was younger. I watched the full series of Race to The Edge however. My favorite character was and still is Dagur the Deranged.
I knew his origin started in ROB. But I never got to see it. I can't wait now that I can finally watch the whole thing. What was young Dagur like? How did he get to be this way?

This was so fun. A little frustrating at times because of my stupid brain and motivation. But I loved working on this. This is THE biggest writing project that I've ever done in my life, and I'm so proud of it. I know the fandom is somewhat dead (at least it seems like it) but this series will forever hold a special place in my heart and my whole being. It literally shaped me.

Okay so I learned that the shows (rtte/rob) are NOT canon so im going to make two posts about this so this is post one
For me i feel like the ending of the 3rd movie didn't COMPLETELY come out of the blue because of Viggo. I always thought that Hiccup learned sacrificing things you care for from Viggo, because Viggo sacrificed HIS life to protect Hiccup, so in the 3rd movie Hiccup sacrificed his friendship with Toothless to protect him. So this kinda made sense of why he sent the dragons away. ( I STILL HATED THE ENDING)
BUT If the shows AREN'T canon the ending CAME out of nowhere. Like why in the 3rd movie did Hiccup give up his friendship with Toothles like yes he almost died, but for me it would have MADE WAY more sense if he did it in the second movie just hear me out. So in the second movie Hiccup SEES what an alpha dragon can do under the power of wrong people, he sees that whole dragons minds can be taken over by just a thought, Toothless almost KILLED him but we all know Stoick saves him, though this proves my point Hiccup saw his DAD DIE because of how powerful the alpha dragons could be. So why didn't Hiccup sacrifice his friendship with Toothless then? It would have made SO MUCH MORE SENSE
Anyways thats just my FIRST RANT about this I'll post my other rant most likely tomorrow

I am sitting here thinking about how modern riders would be like (ignoring the Nine Realms for a second). I'm thinking, what if the dragons resurface due to natural disasters related to global warming and humanity being thrown in a panic.
Of course, humanity immediately try to subjugate them and in that course a lot of dragons die. However, some people start bonding with their dragons.
These bonds eventually lead to a divide where some believe humanity needs to return to a sense of nature, while others want to use dragons for war, and the third group wants to treat them as animals or pets no different from lions and dogs.
I feel like through the course of this series the characters learn more about Berk and the old world by finding hidden artifacts where berk would have been. Maybe a small village in the outskirts that still tell the stories orally albeit skewed.
Maybe we get to explore the legacy hiccup left behind, the good and the bad, and how his choices have effected modern riders and the entire world.
I LOVE ruffnuts hair in Free Scauldy and it will forever be mourned for not being short for longerππ
