My dumb ass JUST put together that the FIRST mission SQQ goes on is the skinner demon.

A creature that takes on the skin of a preexisting person and takes over their lives.

Sound familiar?

That HAS to be intentional and I didn’t realize until I was re-listening to a podfic where the skinner mission happens.

Initially, I was thinking about a post that pointed out the Old Palace Master and Su Xiyan situation was meant to be a warped mirror of a master/disciple relationship and how it went so terribly wrong bc the person in power pursued the object of their affection that did NOT want it, and how while Bingqiu IS freak4freak, it is consensual and they do love each other, unlike the OPM/SXY situation (there’s more to it I don’t have the brainpower to get into rn but that’s not the point of this post anyway).

That got me thinking that maybe Old Master Chen (the petitioner whose concubines are being murdered and skinned) and his concubines might have also been an early commentary on fucked up power dynamics and the affect they have on relationships, which is a theme of SVSSS for not only Bingqiu, but SJ, YQY, and a bunch of other characters in less prominent/obvious ways.

THAT had my parallel brain starting up, and after a YEAR AND A HALF of being in the fandom I finally realized that OH WAIT taking over someone else’s appearance and life like the skinner sounds like a familiar concept

I think there are def some differences and takeaways between the two, and a discussion about how from the viewpoint of the original body’s/skin’s owner it is quite similar, but I can’t fully verbalize them atm and this post is long enough as is, so if anyone has anything to add, feel free to comment or rb your thoughts!

I have two ideas/theories.

One, Code monster as Wilbur. Everyone thinks it's him, except for Phil. Phil tries to call out this imposter, but everyone starts to think he's losing it. Tallulah and Cheyanne start to become upset and go with the fake Wilbur because Phil has seemingly lost his mind.

Oh, that’s the theory I came up with. Are people freaking out about it?

I’m not freaking out. It’s just a theory. I’m not freaking out over any theory, mine or anyone’s.

Just because someone has a theory doesn’t mean that’s how the story is going to go. This theory is linked pretty tightly to a couple of OTHER theories I have, none of which are canon, but all of which do have narrative threads, possible easter eggs, and foreshadowing attached.

My theory is that Russell is giving Murphy a minddrive. So he needs to be made a nightblood. If he’s a nightblood, then that makes him a host, also, and Russell is not trustworthy.

This theory is also based on my theory that Sheidheda is Cadogan, and Sanctum is actually a part of the Second Dawn cult that Cadogan led. Some have speculated that Russell is Cadogan’s son. This could work, or he could be a follower. IF Russell finds a way to talk to Sheidheda, or Sheidheda finds a way to talk to Russell, and Russell finds out that Sheidheda is Cadogan (if he is, and if Russell is related to or a follower of cadogan,) then all of a sudden, Russell has an investment in bringing CadoganSheidheda back to life as a prime. 

HOW?

Raven needs to take Sheidheda out of Madi. The minddrive works to suck digital consciousnesses out of a human brain and store them on the minddrive when the human dies. So, maybe they use one of the spare minddrives to suck Sheidheda out of Mad’s brain. Maybe during this process, Sheidheda reveals his real identity and Russell hears it? So then, while Raven is intending to destroy sheidheda from the minddrive, Russell steals it and installs it into Murphy, instead of the empty minddrive, thereby tricking him and bodysnatching him so his daddy/cult leader can be brought back to life as a god.

This leads us into season 7 with our ultimate villain, Cadogan, back to life. IN MURPHY’S BODY. Richard would KILL that role. Our season 1 petty villain would become our season 7 super villain, after being redeemed and beloved in the intervening years and then falling to tragedy brought on by his own double crossing.

And if the time travel is really happening, Cadogan, in Murphy’s body would go back in time to try and stop our heroes from trying to stop the apocalypse because he’s the leader of a doomsday cult, and because the apocalypse brought about his own godhood, and scuse you, that’s what he wants.

 So.
