SUPER SNOOPER, holding an insulated mug of coffee while working on an owl-shift detective-type matter: Being a detective type, and having to rely on convenience store or bodega coffee during an all-night assignment, Blab, seems to go only so far before you recognise just how compromising detective work gets! BLABBERMOUSE: I sometimes wonder much the same thing myself, Snoop.
Why the tabloids were never meant to be trusted anyway
[Mise en scene: The office/residence of the Super Snooper Detective Agency, early morning, over Chemex-brewed coffee and cinnamon rolls. As the scene opens, Blabbermouse is reading the latest number of the National Exaggerator supermarket tabloid when he comes across a rather bizarre item--] BLABBERMOUSE, reading the headline: "Family Stunned When Satan Spontaneously Interrupts Internet Surfing!" [Commenting] Geez, Snoop, is such probably taking things a little too far? SUPER SNOOPER, taking stock: Hands me the Exaggerator, Blab, so I can take notice of it.... [Blabbermouse hands over to Super Snooper said gazetta with the story in question featured. A quick glance of same, and--] SUPER SNOOPER, somewhat irate in a way: Uh, Blab--is it likely that the, uh, "correspondents" behind this "story" may have been inspired by reading a few too many Jack Chick tracts with their lurid and paranoid "Christian" scaremongering? BLABBERMOUSE: I never thought of it in such terms as you were suggesting, Snoop--getting such "stories" from dubious channels themselves! SUPER SNOOPER: And leaves it to me, Blab, such nonsense as inspires such tabloid nonsense tends to appeal to such bereft of any rational sense of mind to know any better! And methinks those who fall for your Jack Chick tracts and your supermarket tabloids like the Exaggerator must likely be one and the same--poor, ignorant, unsophisticated and guillable!
Another late night with Super Snooper and Blabbermouse on stakeout
SUPER SNOOPER: Uh, Blab, I has to wonders myself whatever happened exactly to that Jolt Cola ... which could be especially refreshing like about this time. BLABBERMOUSE: You mean that which had double the caffeine of other colas, and was sweetened with real sugars as opposed to "corn sweetener," Snoop? SUPER SNOOPER: I believes you has the nail on the head whereof I refer to....

I just realised most of my fave characters have been in a cell at  least once!
Huckleberry Hound, along with Snooper and Blabber, was outside Fort Knox hoping to find a clue for the treasure hunt. Security thought they were planning to break in. Huck called Top Cat on his wrist communicator, explaining the situation. The mistake was cleared up and they were booted out of prison. (Yogi’s Treasure Hunt - The Great American Treasure)
Due to the Pink Pussycat’s shadow fitting him, poor Snagglepuss was mistaken to be the thief of the Moaning Liza. He was to be executed, but the rest of the Treasure Hunters saved him just in time. (Yogi’s Treasure Hunt - Moaning Liza)
Though Benny was a legitimate passenger, the rest of the gang (Top Cat, Choo-Choo, Fancy-Fancy, Spook and The Brain) were stowaways, so they hid in a lifeboat where Spook found a suitcase full of money which they used to book a cabin. Unfortunately, it turned out to be counterfeit, so the gang were locked in the brig. Top Cat did manage to help find the real crook though. (Top Cat - Hawaii, Here We Come)
Two criminals tricked the gang and Officer Dibble into thinking they were the expected television crew who would be filming a robbery scene for the show Naked Town. T.C. and the gang unwittingly became accomplices of an actual robbery, thus they were thrown in prison (as you can see, Choo-Choo found it appropriate to bring out his harmonica). They escaped and brought the real crooks to justice. (Top Cat - Naked Town)
Madeline was mistaken for an accomplice to a pair of thieves who stole the Crown Jewels, so she too was sentenced to prison. Emma, a student from the finishing school in London Madeline was made to attend, explained Madeline was actually trying to stop the international thieves, clearing her name. (My Fair Madeline)
Albert in prison?! Yes, thanks to Milady and Cardinal Richelieu. Richelieu was insulting the King’s stature, so when Captain de Treville suggested His Majesty meet someone shorter than he, Richelieu has Milady tell the Cardinal’s Guards to arrest all men smaller than the King. Milady abducts Albert as he fits the description, and was who de Treville had in mind, so he was locked in the Bastille. But, with his smarts and his new friend Little John, an escape happens, aided by the sensitive jailer who has had enough of locking people up. (Albert the Fifth Musketeer - The King’s Complex)
Unlike the others, Tracey, as well as Ash, Misty, Pikachu and Togepi, was put in a holding cell rather than prison. They were found in the Trovitopolis sewers, which had recently been declared dangerous due to a mysterious creature. Once their story had been cleared, they were released (even if the selfish mayor tried having them locked up until after the election to try to stop them from saying anything about the creature...which we later learn it was HIS fault the creature - an oversized Bulbasaur - was down there...jerk abandoned it by sending it into the sewers as a kid...I’m sorry, but he riled me up!!). (Pokemon - The Mystery Menace)
The only ones, to my knowledge, who have not been locked away are the Banana Splits...unless it happened in one of the comics I don’t have.Â
