Why "expect the unexpected" is our Character Convocation mantra

Lake City Water Ski Days … inner tubing on the Apple River … Robbinsdale Whiz-Bang Days … and just recently, the Glendale Waterama. Not to mention numerous other festivals we've been at in the past since these Character Convocations debuted in 2013 with the Truth or Consequences Fiesta.

Which Huckleberry Hound as much as yours truly has helped plan and formulate, imaginate even … as well as get the word out among the confraternity of your favourite Hanna-Barbera characters, all bound to turn out rather interesting from as much the standpoint of "meet-and-greet" with fans old and new as sharing common issues among us of a Funtastic suasion.

No doubt there's plenty where they came from, understandably. Especially after the years with Kings Island, Kings Dominion, Carowinds, California's Great America, Marineland, Canada's Wonderland even … and by contrast, such love and affection among the fans could never be rivalled anywhere.

And the very tales our characters could tell about the interactions, interreactions even, at these festivals!

Remember, for one, the time we gathered at Mardi Gras in Mobile when many of our stable appeared at numerous parades to be part of the throw crew on the floats, tossing special Moon Pies with an orange coating and a foil wrapper … or even Mardi Gras cups, let alone the traditional bead necklaces--and how especially enthused Augie Doggie and Doggie Daddy were in the throwing arena?

Or even the time at the Moxie Festival in Lisbon Falls, Maine, when The Banana Splits (Bingo in particular) were seriously chugging down two-litre bottles of that legendary, medicinal-tasting even, soda known as Moxie "just for kicks" as much as attention?

Or even those perennial parade favourites, the Hair Bear Bunch, being rather irresistible to parade attendees enow to be quite the hit in the selfie sweepstakes, exchanging much banter in the process?

Yes, when you're among the Funtastic crowd, you learn to "expect the unexpected." Seriously, even!
