Buck gets hit by a car on a Friday night. It happens in slow motion. He’s waving his arms, straddling the bike, and then he isn’t. He’s staring up into the night sky, and he isn’t even sure if he has a body anymore. What he can feel is the heat from the car’s engine hovering over most of his body. His radio crackles, and in the distance he hears Bobby’s voice calling for him. But he can’t bring himself to move his arm. The realization washes over him like a tsunami. And he screams. And he isn’t even sure he can hear it. Hen’s face appears above him moments later, and it feels like deja vu, except this is really happening again. And Eddie isn’t even there to hold his hand.
