I could go on about how completely toxic and completely great this ship is and we still wouldn't be done with how absurd and tragic it is.

Because this ship is honestly lovers to enemies if we're being honest. At least in TFP, they used to work together. And all that sexual tension during TFP itself! Holy Shit!

This isn't even restricted to TFP! Earthspark is really doing it, although it is enemies to friends in this moment in time with a little baggage. Meanwhile, Armada! Holy crap, Megatron went into a depression when Optimus died! Like Megatron's obsession to kill Optimus is ridiculous and Optimus trying to help Megatron see the light is also ridiculous. And then Megatron keeps on violating the Genevea convention.

For me, it also depends on when this ship is being written. Post war, when they work their shit out, sounds really nice, but it would definitely take time. During the war? Absolutely not. Pre-war and the fallout, sometimes I like my fluff followed by angst. The whole point of this ship anyway is that it's tragic.

My favorite written fanfic on Ao3 about this ship is Orbiters by Zombieheroine. It's really good because it explores how toxic the relationship is, but them actually wanting to change and become better for each other, leading to a very powerful reconciliation. If you haven't read it yet, please do. It's been out for years.

OptiRatch:

A lot of my feelings about OptiRatch are positive. And I've stated before in the past that OptiRatch is the more healthy relationship than MegOp. They trust each other, they've known each other for just as long. They get super worried about each other if something bad happens to the other. It's just the sweetest, softest thing.

Ratchjack(I think that's the ship name):

I see it. I see the potential with this ship, but I am fairly neutral on it. Sure, Wheeljack was teasing Ratchet the minute they got assigned together, and Ratchet made it too easy for Wheeljack, but Wheeljack has this very laid back personality with, well, everyone. It's there, and the amount of hijinks that would happen in that ship would be hilarious. It's just not something I would go out of my way for.
