And even when it comes to binders - it’s horrible without wearing one and we can basically only deal by applying an extra dose of dissociation (probably not a very good/healthy coping strategy, as it also leads us to ignore the body’s needs even more), but wearing the one we have doesn’t make it ok either. First of all since we can’t always wear it. Second because it’s not 100% comfortable (like it’s not bad, but it still is a BINDER) and that just reminds us that the body exists and, worse, that the boobs exist, even if they’re squashed a bit. And in general, having a compressed feeling around the chest is not the best thing for when you’re already dealing with trauma, anxiety, dissociation and the feeling of being unable/barely able to move/that you should stay as still as possible to avoid harm. (Which is probably not healthy physically either tbh, not to the extent we’re doing it.)
And then we also just have this huge problem with feeling like we’re not “trans enough” (in our own eyes or the eyes of others) and that trying half-assedly only makes things worse/is even more embarrassing. Like ok we might wear a binder and unisex/male-coded clothes sometimes, but we mcfucking NEVER pass, ever, at all, even a bit. (At least we don’t think so, we’ve NEVER been read as male or even “i can’t tell??!!” as far as we know.) And we don’t put enough effort into it, because it’s just hopeless anyway and also we’re depressed and otherwise mentally ill and don’t have the energy/capability to try something like idk makeup or voice training (cannot do it. just really absolutely can not. and the worst part? our voice often comes out far MORE squeaky than non-male system mates’ ffs) or exercise. And like, if we were REAL trans guys we’d do all of those things??? We’d JUMP on the possibility as soon as we knew it existed??? But we don’t, we’re mostly just tired and bitter and disillusioned.... and “not trans enough”...
We can only hope that some of this gets better once we get our shapeshifters binder as those are supposed to be BOTH more comfortable and better at flattening the chest than most other binders. But like... we really doubt even the best shapeshifters’ binder will solve our problems... idk...
i mailed a binder to someone awhile ago but i dont follow them anymore so i wonder if they ever got it...
Hey younger trans folk who've just started trying binding/tucking: Don't sleep in a binder or with a tuck it's dangerous to have that much pressure on your body for a long time. If it starts hurting, take a break, listen to your body. Don't exercise in a binder - it restricts breathing. Try to take deep breaths every so often to help. Always always always bind and tuck safely because your health is v important
hey does anyone know how to do sizing correctly with this binder and/or these compression boxers?? if it helps for the binder im a 32dd
