Incoming ElfEver now, please! I need that softness, so can you write about their relationship after Tartaros? Maybe they kiss after she wakes up? Or going on a date?
Some Elfever for you! :D First ElfEver I have ever written :0 I was gonna do an elfever date, but it turned into this on accident so...
Maybe it was a little easier to admit she was falling for him. For a while she denied it even to herself. She refused to admit that she had feelings for him. The games had been hard, and with Bickslow teasing her constantly it was even worse. She hadn’t meant to fall in love. Then again, who ever does? Still, Elfman Strauss was the last person in the world she thought she would end up falling for.
Now, here she was, standing with her team at the edge of the guild hall. Laxus let out an exasperated sigh. “Weddings.”
“Who knows, Laxus,” Mirajane said in passing, “If you’re not careful, you might be next.”
The lightning dragon slayer flushed bright red, and then shoved his hands into his pockets with a huff. “Tch. Unbelievable. Like I would ever want to get married.” But Ever knew who he was thinking about.
“I don’t know,” Bickslow grinned, “I think Ever might be the next one married.”
“Hey!” Evergreen snapped, “You don’t know anything about…. Anything! What makes you so sure I even have any prospects?!”
Bickslow let out an annoying laugh and pointed across the room at where Elfman stood with his sister, who was congratulating Levy and Gajeel. Evergreen felt her face go hot. “Shut up, Bickslow.”
“You should go ask him to dance,” Bickslow teased.
“Shut up! It’s none of your business!”
“Leave her alone,” Laxus groaned, rolling his eyes.
“Thank you!” Ever said, crossing her arms, “I can do… whatever I want!”
Whatever I want. What did she want? Elfman was rather handsome, wearing a suit for the wedding of his guildmates. She had thought so during the ceremony. She had imagined, a silly fantasy really, that maybe he would come ask her to dance. Long ago, when she was little, she had had dreams of a prince charming… of a wedding… of true love. Didn’t all girls? Why did Bickslow have to tease her like this?! She felt like if anyone found out she was falling for Elfman Strauss of all people—
“Elfman!” She said, hoping desperately that he didn’t notice the flush rising in her cheeks. Bickslow was snickering, but Laxus grabbed his shoulder and pulled him away towards the food table. Evergreen let out a sigh of relief, silently thanking Laxus for being such a good friend.
It was awkward, as per usual. Elfman standing at her side in silence, both of them wearing deep blushes. “Uh…” Elfman began, “It’s a nice party.”
Evergreen bit her lip, nodding. “Gajeel and Levy look really happy.”
This is getting nowhere. All their conversations were the same. They would never end up anywhere… just going round and round in circles unless… unless I do something.
“Do you…” Evergreen balled her hands into fists. She knew Bickslow was watching. And maybe Mira too… and everyone! Everyone was here! This was so dumb! “Do you want to dance?!” She gasped, looking up at him with a frown. Elfman blinked, and for a moment Evergreen was sure he would deny it—like he always did, and they would fight… like they always did. But he actually smiled. And for some reason that made her even more flustered, and even more irritated.
But, before she could take it back, he was taking her hand, and leading her out on the dance floor, and for one moment, looking up into his eyes, that dream of finding a Prince Charming was alive again.
Maybe this is just the beginning. Evergreen let herself relax in his arms, offering him a smile. Just the beginning…
