I've been trying to be more casual about my fiber art. I'm on mental health leave from work, and I thought that might mean lots of time for crafting. Instead, I'm in a sort of craft rut that isn't entirely bad. I'm pausing to think about where I feel the need to be constantly productive, and whether crafting is just an extension of that.

Instead of jumping from one project to the next and beating myself up when I'm lacking inspiration, I've been letting myself just sit and feel. And holy shit, I'm actually very tired.

Part of that is the anemia but that's not important right now. (I'm taking supplements, it's improving, I'm still taking two-hour naps every day.)

My therapist noted that in many ways, I tend to quiet myself to make room for others. I'm trying to find those quieted parts and make room for them. Thinking about where I've had to become quiet, versus where I've done it reflexively, after being conditioned to believe that the best thing I can do with my life is be quiet and supportive.
