the war machines is too funny because what do you mean its both an exit story and an introduction to new companions and it does both of them equally dirty and is still somehow a good episode??
I mean to give it credit, Polly is introduced making faces at her boss and Ben is introduced beating up a guy for bothering Polly at the club, but also Dodo is just packed away offscreen
(And the doctor is so hurt by it too "there's gratitude for you 😡😡😡")
And then the doctor spends all of part 4 not giving a singular damn about polly and essentially telling ben not to worry about her. A friend of mine once said that The War Machines would have been a better exit story for the first Doctor than The Tenth Planet, and I'm inclined to agree because the Doctor is much more of a main character in The War Machines than The Tenth Planet
