Reblog if you're kinda irrelevant and don't know a single person who actively uses tumblr
Things that will never happen because everybody who has ever used tumblr is dead :(
My life is a joke, not in a depressed way but in that over time I increasingly feel more like I’m living a scripted sitcom and sometimes I just have to sit here like
There is approximately zero content of this movie for me to reblog so I guess I’m doing it myself. I just watched and very much enjoyed this 1996 movie called Star Command (subtitled ‘In the Fold’) and I’m just gonna talk about it for a second here.
While obviously a Star Trek knockoff, I hesitate to use that term considering the negative connotation, because it’s genuinely very good and I think it justifies its existence. It uses the borrowed future-space-navy concept in an interesting way and I think there’s a very solid cast of characters. It follows academy cadets who are newly posted to a small vessel for training and suddenly find themselves in an emergency having to navigate doing everything on their own without the help of their superiors. The conflicts they get wrapped up in make for interesting character beats for everybody, and they all feel real and defined from one another. The standout for me (and not just because I already like him) is Jay Underwood, whose character grows from a soft-spoken ensign who was barely passing with C grades to the natural leader who is best suited among the group to make the hard choices and take care of the others.
There are a lot of nice team moments, mixed with some interesting darker moments as well. It’s just a really neat story of young adults proving themselves through hardship while wrapped in a sci-fi setting, and the main actors all do a great job (and I have to mention the robot with a fun personality). I am once again recommending that people go watch a random B movie I discovered.
Cast: Jay Underwood, Jennifer Bransford, Chris Conrad, Tembi Locke, Kelly Hu, Ivan Sergei, Eva Habermann, Morgan Fairchild, and Chad Everett
I'm a BIG fan of low ranking characters suddenly thrust into a position of authority they're unprepared for. a young princess, too far down the line of succession to merit any training, forced onto the throne when her whole family dies in one attack. a lowly technician on a team who finds themself the defacto leader when a mission goes wrong and every single person above them is captured or killed. a group of strangers comes together for survival, and the only person with any assertiveness gets assigned a leadership role, even though they have no special skills. do these characters rise to the challenge and lead their respective groups to victory? do they crash and burn under the pressure so hard no one ever trusts them again? do they massively restructure their whole society because any system that puts them in charge can't be doing things right?

thank you yes, I did need this today
Baby: taking part in the ancient and beautiful art of dance
Parent: taking part in the ancient and beautiful art of not stepping on your baby while he’s learning to dance
I've seen this before, but today it occurred to me that she knows the moves. She (or he?) is doing them before the adults
i love this style of christian art, it's so pretty and delightful. by @.paigepayne_creations on instagram!

the "biblically accurate angel" trend is such a perfect encapsulation of a pet peeve i have which is everybody wants to criticize the bible but nobody wants to read the bible. like when people were drawing crazy amalgamations of eyes and wheels talking to mary and saying "be not afraid" and everybody was like omfggg OF COURSE she was scared. like no actually the angel looked like a guy can you read 3 lines of text... they were saying be not afraid because it's scary when a random man suddenly shows up in your house and starts talking to you
i bought the new Lego Tower of Babel set but the instructions stop making sense about halfway through the little booklet thingy.
