Before We Were Yours by Lisa Wingate was part of a #buddyread with @thepagesinbetween and @jennsbookvibes I’ve had this on the shelves for a while but glad to have finally read this emotional story. There is evil here. I struggled with all of the horrible things done to the kids. That’s hard for me to read. I wondered why no adult stepped up and said “Stop this!” Georgia Tann was pure evil and I would have liked to see her answer for her crimes. I liked that the book ends in a positive way. Always nice to have a book set in your state. If you haven’t been to one of our barrier islands here in SC, find a way to visit. Lots of places like Edisto. And the Botany Bay beach is special.
