THE Liminal Space: When the Old Self Has Died but the New Self Hasn’t Arrived
THE Liminal Space: When the Old Self Has Died but the New Self Hasn’t Arrived
There is a moment on every awakening path where you can’t go back to who you were, but you also can’t yet step into who you’re becoming.
This is called the liminal space, the threshold between identities, timelines, and versions of self.
Most people meet this phase with fear, confusion, or the sense that something is “wrong.”
But nothing is wrong.
This is the initiation moment.
What the Liminal Space Feels Like
You may notice: • The old coping strategies not working • Emotional waves surfacing out of nowhere • Feeling lost, unmotivated, or strangely “in-between” • A sense that you can’t go back, yet you can’t move forward • Irritation with things you used to tolerate • A quiet grief for a self you’ve outgrown • Confusion about desires and direction • An inner pressure to shed something, but you don’t know what
Liminal space is not collapse. It is reconstruction.
Your system is dissolving the structures that kept you safe but small.
Why This Happens
The liminal phase begins when: • Your soul has outgrown the old identity • Your habits no longer match your consciousness • Your relationships begin shifting • Truth breaks through old defenses • Suppressed emotions rise for release • A deeper self is trying to emerge
It is the sacred space between:
No longer and Not yet.
What You’re NOT Supposed to Do in the Liminal Phase
Most people try to: • Force clarity • Push for answers • Make big decisions • Fix themselves • Rush the process
These attempts only create more friction.
Liminal space is an energetic chrysalis. The caterpillar doesn’t force the butterfly into being.
It rests inside the becoming.
What Helps Instead
The soul asks for: • Slowness • Curiosity • Kindness toward yourself • Gentle structure (not pressure) • Time alone • Nature • Allowing emotions without attaching stories • Releasing the need for certainty • Staying present with what’s rising
Most of all:
Let the old dissolve without trying to rebuild the new too quickly.
Your next identity is forming in silence.
When You Know the New Self Arriving
Signs include: • A sudden clarity about what matters • New boundaries that feel effortless • A shift in relationships • Emotional steadiness returning • A spark of inspiration • Feeling more YOU than you ever have • A sense of inner maturity • A quieter mind • More truth in your body
The new self doesn’t rush in. It steps forward when you’ve become spacious enough to hold it.
If Your Partner Is in the Liminal Space
Some of you will watch a spouse or loved one enter this phase.
You may see: • Irritability • Emotional swings • Withdrawal • Uncertainty • Questioning everything • A cracking open of old wounds
If this is happening, remember:
They are not failing. They are shedding.
Hold your shape. Stay grounded. Don’t rescue. Don’t fix.
Their new self needs space to be born.
Liminal space is not the void. It is the Sacred Threshold.
If you’re here, it means:
You have outgrown the life you built and are preparing to step into the life you were always meant to live.
This is the corridor between your old vibration and your destiny timeline.
Breathe. Be gentle. You are becoming.
Restoring and Replanting Myself
I’ve been taking the time to go internal. I’ve been taking the time to be alone and really figure out what keeps me going. I love love, but now is not my time for a romantic partnership. Now is my time to create friendships that exhibit the type of love I would like to have in the future. I have been working on creating more meaningful relationships all around…with friends, family, strangers,…

It's ok to hurt mentally, its ok to make mistakes. It's ok to fall down, and its also ok to get right back up.
Never stop “becoming”. Love these words from a philosopher of our time.... David Bowie. . . #becomingyou #youbeyou #davidbowie #aging #lifegoals https://www.instagram.com/p/BzhJfyOHPyk/?igshid=1lvkzbvc52swb
