Their finger tips, toes, tips of their ears and tongues are black. Many Shadow Knights cover themselves with gloves and hoods and face coverings to hide them

They have long black claws that are very sharp, and curl if they grow more than half an inch

If a Shadow Knight died in a violent way (eg stabbed) they’ll have a scar where the injury was, but they do not scar if injured after becoming a Shadow Knight

Their eye colours can change from what they were when they were alive (eg: red if immortal or green to blue like Laurence)

They teeth are pointed extremely sharp

Their eyes are foggy and often the pupil is either too big or too small, they also never blink. Its not noticeable at first but the longer you look at them the more unsettling it becomes.

Since they aren’t alive their body doesn’t make blood so they don’t bleed. If they do cut themselves a dark black grainy ooze comes out instead

They are extremely sensitive to the cold and prefer staying in warm places. Since they cannot burn they can bathe in lava and some even swallow matches to warm themselves if they’re forced to travel threw a cold climate

You don’t need to be evil to be turned into a Shadow Knight, however its widely believed by Irene followers that if you die and come back a Shadow Knight, its a punishment for something horrible you did in life.

Their armour is a shell. It’s hard and dense and feels like crab shells. It can be prickly or smooth. It can form over clothes and drops off when they transform to their usual selves.

When a mortal knight transforms their irises turn red and bloodshot, but when an immortal knight transforms their pupils become red and the rest of the eye turns a dark grey.

Their hair doesn’t grow. It stays the length it was at when they died unless they cut then it stays at whatever length they cut it to

Shadow Knights are territorial and prefer to be alone than with other people (especially in the Nether)

Shadow Knights are at their strongest in the Nether, due to it being entirely made of dark magic just like them

Their skin can feel unbearably warm to other beings

They don’t like apples. They just don’t

They forge their own weapons with a special ore that only forms at the bottom of lava pools in the Nether

They can go for 2 weeks without eating and when they do eat they eat almost half their body weight

They are extremely emotional creatures that hate and love deeply. There used to be (an untrue) rumour that you could kill a Shadow Knight by making them fall in love with you then breaking their heart

Despite the fact that Shadow Knights do live among other beings in the overworld, many people believe they’re extinct or a myth. They’re good at blending in when they need

Most of them are colour blind

If they stay away from the Nether for long enough they start experiencing audio hallucinations telling them to come back. In the beginning its tolerable since they’re always experiencing some kind of hallucination at any given time but the more they ignore them the louder and more demanding and violent the hallucinations get until they’re visual and sensory hallucinations too. They just get overwhelmed and when they return to Nether they get a rush of adrenaline and dopamine that becomes very addictive quickly
