(Before you wonder, Shrek Riven wonāt be a thing in my AU; the effects will be different) River unintentionally wakes Nad while he is dozing off near the Asian pantheon. After River drank a different potion, Xylo handed him Hydra juice since he believed River had drunk tomb juice. Nad disagrees, but River believes he looks ugly and fears standing out. Nad tries to provide River with guidance on how to deal with the self-loathing potion, which continues to affect him.
To unwind, Nad takes River to the onsen. River is having difficulty relaxing despite Nadās best efforts. Nad visits the onsen twice a day because of the stress of traveling to Helheim and Niflheim. Nad has been volunteering around the camp and is aware that Mania, Momiji, Ricarro, and Minamoto are the most frequent visitors to the onsen.Ā After leaving the onsen with River, Nad goes to the library to do some research.
River describes the next trial of Xiwangmu, also known as the hill king, on an enormous tree containing two immortal peaches on top of it. Sadly, Nad is not allowed to use all of his might to jump very high.Ā HeĀ doesnāt think the tree on which the trial will take place is that large. As Nad struggles to control his abilities and skills, he senses that something is wrong with Mania since she is speaking more elegantly. River discovered there was just one peach when he continued to examine them.
Cal knocked Nad off when he reached the part where he had to walk on clouds, but something knocked Cal off again a few seconds later. Nad advises Mania not to treat River so harshly. Nad and Momiji are attempting to cheer River up while he watches the entire competition on his dragon and hates himself. The trialās winners are Xylo and Lychee. Momiji is upset that the peaches are not the true immortality peaches. Cal is shoved aside when Nad and Ricarro leap from the tree. Nad swims back to camp while the others board boats.

When Nad awakens, he silently returns to get the ice crystal that he left at the ball. He feels that he should to be on guard when he discovers it on the counter near the bar. He begins to feel terrible as he turns back home, chokes, and eventually falls into the river near the ball. When Hilda flies in, Nad awakens in an unfamiliar location. Nad replies that there is no reason to continue training at this time when Hilda tells him that he has cut back on his training. She also informs him that he is in a place between life and death. Nad declares to Hilda that he is not interested in gaining as much power as possible.
She warns him not to be scared of his powers and past and what his mother and family would think of him if he spent all of his time living in the past. Nad gets angry when his mother is mentioned and tells her not to mention her. Hilda previously trained Nad, and as she turns to go, she informs him that she still thinks heās a good person.
When Nad awakens in the water, Inpuās lost arm and Xyloās new wings startle him. The Book of Shadows is then destroyed by Inpu, Xylo, and Magnus. After Inpu, Xylo, and Magnus destroy the book, Nad leaves feeling anxious and worn out, and his aunt Hela may now despise him even more. (In my au, the book simply returns in Helheim rather than being destroyed. Iāll clarify just in case, even though Iām not sure if this is also canonical.)
Mario, who is looking to get his personal weapon back from a friend woke Nad up. Mario wasĀ surprised when Nad discovered that his sword had previously been damaged because he had only briefly used it. Then the swordās lightning strikes Nad. Mario apologizes and explains that lighting occasionally leaks out because fresh material was used to repair the weapon. Nad reveals that itās because Marioās sword is unique, which surprises Mario because he thought it couldnāt injure Nad.
Mario wonders if Loki was portrayed accurately in the movies; Nad honestly couldnāt tell. Nad has limited it down to three or four mountains, but he is still far from discovering his fatherās staff. When Nad introduces Mario to boneless pizza, Mario asks why he can fly and has a name like that. Nad doesnāt know. Mario could hear him laugh when he discovered that boneless pizza had invisible wings. Nad believes he may have been granted entry into Camp Oasis because of Loki. Mario tells Nad about a battle between Zeus and Thor that resulted in a storm that swept throughout the United States; Mario is unsure of the final result.
Like Nad, Mario occasionally wishes he had never been a demigod or possessed his powers. Mario informs Nad that there are some positive outcomes. Nad disagrees, claiming that he would still have a family if he werenāt Vidarās son. His hometown was lost six years ago due to his ancestry. Mario advises Nad to strive for a better future and try living in the present rather than the past. The majority of Americans, for whatever reason, enter the Greek underworld.
Mario tells Nad that Bryanās bullying behavior from the previous year was driven by the seductive rose, and that this culminated in him unleashing the Titans. Xylo then sent the Titans back into the underworld using an enchanted sword, while Hades repelled them with an army of skeletons. After Bryan (the seductive rose) almost murdered Kay, Mario became enraged and attacked him until he could not fight any more.
Then Mario had the opportunity to kill Bryan, but he sensed something wrong in the sword and broke it instead, fracturing eternity. Mario attempted to observe Nadās feelings by bringing up a few different subjects, and he primarily detected worry, sadness, and a hint of anger. Mario agrees that Nad is happy to be in this camp. Nad thinks Mario is making progress toward redemptionānot for himself, but for Bryan.
It starts with Kay announcing the royalties of the Aphrodite Ball; apparently, itās a tie. The kings are Inpu and Bryan, and the prince and princess are Ricarro and Momiji. Kay wasnĀ“t prepared to have a tie, so she gives them paper crowns. Nad and Xylo cheer them on. Lee, fueled by alcohol, hurries over to Mario and Kay, addressing her as āsnake lady.ā Mario and Kay appeared surprised by Nad and Leeās excessive alcohol consumption. After some catching up, Lee and Nad head towards the bar for some ice cream.
Davis and Mania approach Nad and Lee, turns out Lee and Mania went out shopping. Turns out the same shop Mania and Lee went to get their outfits, Nad bought his bowtie (plus extra in my au); the shop is owned by Daveed. Apparently, heās very obnoxious and rude. Davis tells Nad that over at Calās bar, the food is never-ending. Davis teases Nad about the possibility of his uncle being a pirate. Turns out that the pendant that Davis found in Niflheim, he made a necklace out of it and gave it to Mania. Nad still has to figure out what to do with the ice crystal. After some talking, Lee and Nad rush towards the buffet.
At the buffet, Nad becomes so hungry he breaks a part of a table. Momiji drags Nad away to talk to him. Nad explains that Lee is very drunk, and they head back to her. Cal gives Lee and Nad some melon soda. Ricarro, Momiji, and Jyles leave Cal and Nad to deal with Leeās drunkenness.
Cal warned Nad and Lee not to drink the strange soda Jyles gave them, but they had already had some. Cal questions Nad since he always has a backup cake with him. Lee is upset that Nad isnāt a pirate, so he briefly poses as one to please her. Cal recognizes Nadās misunderstanding of balls, while Lee makes fun of him for it. Cal will only give Lee more alcohol if she can walk in a straight line, which she couldnāt do immediately. When Lee tries to devour the table, Cal and Nad try to stop her. They then offer her some water while pretending itās a cocktail, and Cal promises to close the bar.
As Nad and Lee get closer to the ice cream bar, Xylo and Magnus grab as much of it as they can because Nad will likely consume it all. Nad starts eating all of the ice cream, with chocolate being his favorite. Nad notices the similarities between Xyloās and Leeās flowers. Nad tells Xylo about Leeās drunkness. Given that Magnus is generally grumpy and despises the cold, Nad is taken aback by Magnusās upbeat attitude and love of ice cream. Xylo realizes that Nad is uncomfortable with Magnusās change. Nad pulls Xylo aside and tells him to call him if something goes wrong. The final people to depart the party are Nad and Lee. Sparkles will fly independently with Lee and follow Nad to Leeās home because Nad doesnāt trust Lee riding a flying horse while intoxicated. This is Nadās second party in six years, and he gets to keep the boneless pizza (a horse). Nad returns to his room (which he has in my au), and he recounts having slept on hay many times in his travels.
