#beanstalked

Today's Beanstalked update was a redraw I was looking forward to because any chance to draw Jack's cheeks being squished is a chance I'mma take.

Funny enough, the old page is an example of me splitting 1 page and turning it into two. The first panel winded up being used for this the previous page, which is also a low key redraw. I just decided to focus more on the actual impeding doom of the giant approaching instead of trying to force in a funny bickering punchline panel.

I also made Aurelia way more worried about Jack and being, ya know, an actually good mother who is just happy to see her son isn't dead...though Jack never actually died in the old version of the comic since, AGAIN, being Bookmarked wasn't even a concept I had back then.

MORE BEANSTALKED CHARACTER DESIGNS - These two are super old characters. Like, they have been a part of Beanstalked since I even thought up the story in the first place.

Anatina is a swan maiden and Sydney is an "ugly duckling". He follows her around everywhere she goes. You typically don't see one without the other nearby. I feel as though their Bookmarked stories are suuuper obvious (which is why I made them both traveling companions).

Anatina is also one of Charming's friends…well actually she's Charming's only friend. She has an incredibly high patience. Because of this, she gets to see the more humble and honest side of him that he hides away from everyone else. When it comes to interactions between the Fabled Five and Charming, she plays the moderator to keep Charming well behaved (because bro loves to rile Jack up)

It's been awhile so here is Ramya, who is bookmarked with Rapunzel.

The only change to her design is that I made the flowers in her hair gold to make it more obvious that her hair accessories all serve the same purpose: maintaining the length of her hair.
