Ho bisogno di abitare luoghi abbandonati. Voglio ossessioni, fantasmi, tormento, smania.

Arguably the most ruinous thing from anyone in the Unsane camp has put on record. Dave Curran gets full vocal billing here and he deserves it.

Devo farcela.

Baratro: Terms And Conditions (2021)
Unsane ending their blood-soaked noise-rock legacy as we knew it was something no one asked for but got. After 30+ years, Chris Spencer was tired of doing most of the work and wanted to move on to other projects. Now he’s in the highly-lauded Human Impact. But bassist Dave Curran also has to make money, too. He’s teamed with drummer G.J. Ottone and guitarist / vocalist Federico Bonuccelli for the new noise-rock outfit Baratro. Whereas Curran occasionally did lead vocals in Unsane, (J.J. Paradise) Players Club and Pigs, he now has full billing. Those who hoped for Curran to bring the classic New York City assault will have no problem acclimating to the new project. “A Goliath Of Persuasion” kicks off the mini-album trampling down like a Sevilla bull with a running head start of violence, while “Vilification” demonstrates Baratro’s dynamics taking some of its nastiest dirtiest strides. All that continues with “The Divine Commodity” which hones into your psyche with its eerily stranged-out hypnotic licks that makes you feel like you have a fucking problem. The obvious standout of the release is the seven-minute “Seamless Narrative”, dragging slowly with all its hefty might as Curran growls sick in the middle of Bonuccelli’s cyclone of low erratic riffs which helps break down the final moments of Terms And Conditions rampant ride.
If you made it early, you got the now-removed track “All Over”. Congrats- to those who did.
