we tumblr users deserve to know why staff has banned us.
as some of you may know, last month my account was wrongfully terminated. i didn't even know until i tried to log into my account on the app. i still have no idea why i had been terminated. they never told me this. how can i even defend myself against termination when they won't even tell me the reasoning.
if they refuse to explain why any account is terminated then they can just terminate anybody without consequences. and they do. they do it all the time to my transfem sisters.
"but what about the ones who actually deserved the termination? do they not exist to you?" we wouldn't have to discuss if x blog actually deserved termination if we were given the reasoning. because tumblr staff refuses to be transparent about termination, we can't tell who actually violated tos.
because we don't know why someone gets terminated we can't defend them. we can't prove that the people who did violate tos actually did. and so people can and have been led to believe that all of them deserved it, or none of them deserve it. which is just not true.
tumblr needs to be transparent about reasons for termination. if not, the tos is practically useless, and whether or not people are banned depends entirely on if staff feels like it.
