Classic Baked Apples and Whipped Cream with Chocolate Drizzle
Baked apples made with 7 wholesome ingredients. Topped with heavy whipping and chocolate drizzle for a bit more decadence.
As soon as Fall begins its descent on the Midwest I find myself foraging for leaves, acorns, pinecones, you name it. We live a block away from the forest and this is my absolute favorite time of year to go as many times as I can. My family is on board on the weekends and my dog never says no. Weekends are also a time for us to make a lovely Saturday night dinner. And of course, dinner is not complete without dessert.
Apples, butter, cinnamon, oats, flour, and slivered almonds. Thinly sliced apples are baked with a layer of simple ingredients. It doesn't get any easier. I think this recipe would be great with sliced pears too.
I added heavy whipping cream and a generous drizzle of chocolate. Here you can switch out the chocolate for caramel if chocolate is not your thing. This is a classic recipe and perfect for an intimate dinner party or when you just want to up your dessert game.
