Blue Box
I recently came across this anime called Blue box on my netflix recommendations, i had just came back from a run and i was exhausted, took a seat turned on the TV and there it was! on my recommendation.
In a nutshell this anime is a sports/romantic genre which follows a guy called inumata taiki who is deeply infatuated with this girl called Kano Chinatsu both of which are a part of a major sports powerhouse called Eimei high school, Inumata a badminton player while chinatsu is on the basketball team, its a story about how their love progress further. From the surface level this anime seems like any other romantic anime that is out there and seems pretty bland but you can't be any more wrong!!.
This anime does one thing better then any romantic anime out there and that is it doesnt make romance its whole thing, as i mentioned earlier this anime is also a sports anime and it handles that aspect sooo well that it keeps you hooked to the show all the way through.
In any sports anime you will find competion, the drive to be better, the discipine to the regime and utter most focus, this anime has it all while the romance runs in parallel with it, and i for one feel that its a very important aspect that needs to be added in a romantic anime cause life is not all about love, love is easy to get, it takes a great deal of discipline to mentain that love in the long run. That paired with its ULTIMATE RELATABLE humour that each one of us might have faced at some point pursuing the person we like! makes this anime an extremely compelling one.
The visuals of the anime are very heartwarming and comforting, pairing along with the soothing backgroud music it really puts you in a yellow/orange cozy haze. if you had a bad day and need some tender loving visuals this anime is a treat for you!
Coming to the charectors, inumata is the kind of guy whom you find very easy to talk to, he is super humble, great to be around and the kind of friend that you wanna have by your side when you are in a bad state of mind, in short you will accept him easily from the get go.
On the other hand chinatsu, she is a super sweet girl with kind of a airhead personality but still with a wisdom that you would expect from a senior, i really liked her design especially her hairstyle and the way they decided to portrait her goldern retriever personality!.
There are other characters that are pretty important to the story with an impressive depth in their personality and i for one would not blame you if you felt more close to any of them rather then the two main charectors.
As i am writting this blog the anime is 17 episodes in and will have a total of 25ep in the first season, from myside its a highly recommended watch and i hope you will definitely relate with me on some level and please let me know your thoughts of the show down in the comment section!
