#bad cook

I feel bad because I am sick and I have no strength or idea to draw.

Honestly, I tried, but I didn't like the work.

I guess I'm burnt out •-• ...or I'm just tired

that's why i tried to make Bad Chef in gacha 2

I like how it turned out and then I decided to make it in the shape of a pepper...

A character cooks “food” SO bad it would be a miracle to end up with just a stomach pain after eating it. I’m sure many must know at least one in fiction. Honestly, it’s not the worst pet peeve on my list. As someone who knows only the bare minimum in cooking, I know nobody can make perfect dishes on the first try. It’s alright if someone cooks badly because they don’t know how to do it properly (initially at least) or if someone whose cooking is good where they come from and not in a foreign place (e.g.: aliens). To me, a Lethal Chef is someone who had made something UNDENIABLY inedible, yet refuses to acknowledge that truth. 

Examples are Otae from Gintama, Akane from Ranma ½ and Lilia Vanrouge from Twisted Wonderland.

For those who don’t know, everything Otae makes turns up as LITERAL ASHES, Akane basically throws whatever into the pot and Lilia, a fay, is the only one of his kind able to eat his dishes. All three make other people eat their bad cooking, not seeing the latter’s discomfort (the one time someone ate Akane’s cooking and ended up sick, she wrongly believed that the fault lay in the recipe).

In short, people who don’t want to see their mistakes and continue to repeat them at the cost of their entourage’s health should be kept away from the kitchen unless they really want to improve. 

P.S.: I know Meliodas from The Seven Deadly Sins is a horrible cook as well, but I always got the impression he used his bad cooking to prank on his customers, so he’s not denying that part about him. 

(Also, using that trope to justify the “men can’t cook” excuse is bullshit just like how cooking is supposedly a “woman’s thing” and failing at it means failing as a woman.)
