i’m never getting over this actually. they genuinely fucked up michael, imo.
fnaf lore is so vague that i cant even separate canon from my own au anymore, and thats mostly because ive had this au for like four years now. for some people, that’s great. you can project your own ideas onto the story. but if you want an actual narrative and not something that feels half fanmade, it kind of sucks.
michael afton barely even exists in canon. we dont know his age. we don’t know where he worked outside of sl and fnaf 3 (if anywhere). and still, i cannot see him as a villain. ever.
his line to william, “they thought i was you… scoff” doesnt sound like admiration to me at all. it sounds like disgust. like he cant believe anyone would think he’s that monster. it reads way more “fuck you” than “i want to be like you.”
that being said, evil michael is a fresh take compared to the fandom’s usual “no one understands me” ego version and yeah, my own view of him is definitely affected by that.
idk. maybe this is just the 2020 gacha life afton family videos permanently rotting my brain.
EDIT: this isnt calling anyone lmao, i highly adore the people commenting. But this post is a hot take, and completely centered around my opinion, and also kinda js a joke. I was introduced to fnaf through those 2020 gacha life afton family things (also bueycapsules so if ykyk), so my view on the aftons is heavily affected through that. (ex: michael being the poor scapegoat)
I dgaf if you think michael being evil was the best, im js poking fun at the movie. I thimk the movie has great value, but my problem is that some things seem so far fetched, and thats fine!! i love the responses but some people took offence to it. Im sorry if you did, but this post was a joke.
