・Yes to others he comes off as ... intimidating, dominating, and even a tad controlling. But that's not how you see him. Not anymore. He's different with you.

・He isn't great with expressing his feelings, but he does things to prove how much he cares:

・The banter between you two is caused because you - sometimes - like being told what to do, while John is so used to barking orders and having them done.

It’s clear to me that Tai will be the next Antler Queen in the post-crash timeline. In the first episode, there’s a scene where the main girls (Lottie, Nat, Shauna & Tai) are talking about what to do regarding the weak link on the team- an important topic that resurfaces time and time again later in the wilderness. I believe that their stances on this dictate how they operate when they become Antler Queen.

-Tai wants to stage an “accident” so that they have better chances at a nationals success (lawful evil)

-Nat immediately rejects the idea because hey obviously we shouldn't hurt our teammate (lawful good)

-Lottie is against it, though with less conviction (chaotic good)

-Shauna waits for the others to leave and secretly agrees with Tai (chaotic evil)

These moral dynamics can be seen in the way each girl uses her power during their leadership. Starting with Lottie (chaotic good), she unintentionally becomes the first Antler Queen by virtue of her being a guiding light to the others during the first winter. She uses her belief in the wilderness as an entity to connect with the girls, slowly growing more followers as the days get darker (both literally and metaphorically lol). There's a certain chaos in the way she worships, mimicking the chaos of the natural world around them.

The turning point for her is when Javi ends up the victim of the first hunt. Lottie didn't even want them to do that shit, but Misty lied and got them to anyway. Lottie's well-intentioned but she's too much of a wild-card to stop something like that from happening. Like she was literally post-Shauna beat-down, one of the most chaotic things she initiated. While she wholeheartedly believes in the wilderness as an entity, I think by the end of S2 she needed the pressure off her because she finally processed the responsibility and consequences of the role she created. Nat was the most obvious choice and wouldn't abuse the power and so she decided to pass the torch to her.

Natalie (lawful good) used her moral compass as her guide during her leadership and employed diplomacy to find justice and peace where she could. Of course with the Ben reveal, her integrity came into question. The group felt betrayed- whether Coach Scott was guilty or not, their Antler Queen had been keeping something massive from them that could have jeopardized everyone's safety. Shauna used this uncertainty as a chance to usurp Nat’s power during the trial, using intimidation to sway the vote and ultimately the social dynamics.

When Shauna (chaotic evil) forced Natalie to butcher Ben as punishment for her "transgression" against the team, the Antler Queen role shifted to her. She'd gotten them to cannibalise when they didn't have to. Her rule is aggressive and commanding. When figuring out Van's trick, she immediately skewed the draw so that her #1 opp would be the hunted. With the chance of rescue, what she perceives as a looming threat, I believe that the winter will bring her a madness worse than what we’ve seen- fully fledged with hallucinations and overzealous tirades against the others. I posit that Tai will be the one to overthrow her and take on leadership, potentially amicably because she's the closest to Shauna, but it’s probably more likely that the team will need to revolt and put Shauna in solitary time-out or something.

Of course, other/shadow/evil Tai (lawful evil) will start seeping more and more into her waking self, like we saw last season. Other Tai will influence everyone with a manipulative grace, convincing the team to do some evil shit in the name of the wilderness. I believe she’ll bring more order to the chaos of the woods and the winter in the form of rituals, and perhaps she’ll hold audiences to address concerns like a more literal queen. It’ll be what the girls need (or at least are made to think they need) to make it through the winter alive. I could see Other Tai finding a way to sabotage the first rescue effort because she finally has the control she craves. I think her and Shauna will need sedation to get taken back home.

It’s also very interesting to me how the leadership’s perspectives change. It goes from the chaos of believing in the wilderness, to the lawfulness of using empathy and diplomacy, to the chaos of believing in nothing, to the lawfulness of control and manipulation. It feels like a swinging pendulum and I'm curious how that'll affect the dynamics post-rescue...
