Some guy in an alien tech suit flies up to him and they exchange the cheesiest script that has ever been written.

First off, this has been talked about since 2011 and all the language around it is shit about how all those ‘beloved characters’ we already know are just being put into live action, so cut the bullshit and actually keep all the *main characters* that are already there instead of swapping out 2 out of 6. Second, it’s absolute bullshit to remove a poc character and replace them with a white chick. Also, since Eliot has a larger build, it really reads like ‘whitewashing is okay if you’re swapping out a thin poc for a white person who isn’t thin because being overweight is totally the same as not being white,’ which, again, is some real bullshit. Third, go ahead and play around with body types. The body types in the original show are so literally identical that that aspect can be written off as part of the animation style that doesn’t need to be kept in the live action version, just like how super long, gravity defying hair is also out of the question. However, if you only bring in one (1) actress who isn’t thin and she’s out here replacing a woc, that clearly shows that nobody gives a fuck about incorporating more diversity in body types and that it’s like I said before- ‘oh but fat people are *totally* an oppressed minority, just like non-white people’. Lastly, when it comes to Musa, or Flora IF SHE WERE HERE, it isn’t about *ethnicity* as it is just race and appearance. What I mean by that is that they are *literally* aliens so, no, it doesn’t matter if the actress playing Musa is ethnically Singaporean if she doesn’t have the facial features characteristic of East Asian people that Musa would have.
