And Your Nemesis Closer (E)
A #GoodOmens rom-com AU by beerok23 for @di-42
Summary
There is definitely something worse than having to plan an entire art exhibition centering around the precious inherited painting you’re too broke to hold on to with your hereditary enemy, and that is doing all of the above while being hopelessly attracted-to and most definitely despised-by said hereditary enemy. When art-critic Anthony J. Cleaver-Crowley finds himself in such a predicament, he can only hope entrusting Cabanel’s Nemesis, once belonging to his late grandfather, to the angelic hands of esteemed curator Aziraphale Darcy-Fell is the right thing to do. He’ll just have to set his prejudice towards the Darcy-Fells and his totally minor crush on the man aside. And hope he won’t make too much of a fool of himself in the process. And keep the Cleaver-Crowleys’ reputation intact. Which, as you can guess, Crowley can do with his eyes closed. Mostly. Given the right circumstances. He just needs to find a way to keep this work arrangement strictly professional before he and his own nemesis cancel each other out…

Hello Good Omens Fandom and welcome to And Your Nemesis Closer.
This one is for my dear @di-42 via @fandomtrumpshate.
I hope you're ready for a new rom-com AU, this time loosely based on Bridget Jones’s Diary. The story features curator Aziraphale as Mark Darcy and art critic Crowley as a blend of Daniel Cleaver and Bridget Jones. They are enemies to lovers, your honour – or better… nemeses to lovers.
A huge thank to my Other-Half @hermiola - this story wouldn’t have existed without her unwavering support and fantastic beta-work (and her lovely banner and her brilliant summary). I love you 6000, dried shrivelled plum 💜).
~ The story is pre-written (around 45k) and will update weekly ~
Excerpt from Chapter 1
“I’ve heard you own a bookshop?” “Word travels fast when you practise such heinous actions.” Crowley gaped at Fell’s unexpected brazenness. “I was just trying to make conversation.” “Please, do continue, my dear. Don’t hold back on account of my unwavering reluctance.” Crowley chuckled. He was starting to like this angelic bastard who was supposed to be his hereditary enemy a little too much. “We could always talk about the weather. Or tv shows. Or books.” The sparkle of mischief in Fell’s eyes turned into interest. “I am always up for a spot of literature. Have you read any good books lately?” Crowley was taken aback by Fell’s question, he wasn’t really an avid reader. “Erm. Ulysses, I guess?” Fell’s eyes twinkled and Crowley noticed how the hazel bordered on light blue under the artificial light of this room. (Another point in favour of the angel-dropped-from-the-sky imagery.) “Ah, yes, I read that a long time ago.” When it first came out?, Crowley thought of Fell’s a-mile-off-expected answer – but obviously didn’t say out loud. Instead, he asked, “All the way through?” “Don’t you think it’s sometimes trivial and futile in the narrative?” “Erm… well, not too trivial. Actually I made it to half of Episode one, I must have dozed off. But I’m sure the story’s really going to kick in by the end of Episode two.” And was that– was there a tiny glint of amusement in Fell’s eyes?! Judging by the way his plump lips were pressing together to hold back a smile but failing as they traitorously twitched at the corners, it seemed that Fell was almost… intrigued.
