hey so do you know what "awtok" is? i've been seeing it around lately and im very confused on what it is...?
AWTOK is a pretty old myth amongst nonhuman communities, mostly physical shifter communities. from what I know, it stemmed from some kind of maximum ride roleplay type of thing in the late 2000s/early 2010s (at least that's how the story goes), and AWTOK (which stood for "Always Watching The Other Kin/Kind") was supposedly a secret government group that had hundreds of bases around the world to trap, hunt, experiment on and sometimes kill p-shifters or other similar nonhumans. AWTOK isn't real but its existence was and still sometimes is debated on. I believed in it as a kid but I don't anymore, although I still believe that hunters could be out there and that it's dangerous to expose yourself as a pshifter to untrusted people or to the general public.

Late Christmas Present: The Shifter Timeline!
Hey, how was your holidays? Hopefully it's been good. I've been away from here for a while, and that's because I've been working on a Shifter's Timeline!
It covers the online history of the shifter community, from the past to around 2018. I would have gone further but the events from this decade will take a few more months of work at best. Citations should be properly formatted and up-to-date, but Wix started giving me trouble so I apologize if anything looks wonky. If you have sources feel free to add them on by the way, I always appreciate more info!
