did you know we have a discord server for folks to request image descriptions, audio captions and other accessibility stuff?

(did you also know that people have been chatting there about starting other accessibility projects and it’s made me CRY like three times?!)

including a description on original posts is THE most accessible thing to do on sites like tumblr. however, not everyone is able to add descriptions. that’s where the People’s Accessibility server comes in! share an image, video or audio clip and a volunteer will describe it for you asap! (content does NOT need to be taz or fandom related, it can be anything.)

obviously you can also join if you wanna help volunteer, that’s amazing too.

Hey anon! We’ve discussed it, and we’re going to start doing both image and audio descriptions/transcripts on our blog - for gifs, images, and videos/audio recordings. Thanks for the idea!

I do sometimes have a hard time with auditory processing (especially with certain accents)

sometimes I'm in an area with low internet and I want to watch a video but it won't load

sometimes I forget to bring headphones

I might be somewhere where I have to look up frequently, text is easier to take a break from and come back to

reading is usually much faster for me than watching a video

sometimes I'm overstimulated and I just don't want sound
