Katara would be possibly be Marine creature. Perhaps Cephalopods or sharks? Or something else perhaps? But do you think, Azula, Zuko’s. Sokka’s, Ty Lee’s Mai’s, Toph’s, Aang’s or anyone else you can think

Oh, what animals the ATLA characters would have psychic connection to? That’s a fantastic question. 😊 I’ll reply by choosing real world animals instead of the silly/weird hybrids from ATLA world.

Yeah, Katara would definitely have a marine creature, something graceful, wholesome, the kind of animal everyone goes ‘Aww!’ at. I’m going to say a dolphin, because even though everyone loves dolphins, they can be very freaky and nasty, so I think that also fits Katara 😅

What sort of animal would Sokka the Wise get? Well, what animal represents wisdom better if not an owl. However, Sokka probably considers this psychic connection kind of BS, so over the years, he completely ignores it. Because of that, whenever he uses it, Sokka always gets the derpiest owl possible, like one that can’t fly straight and crashes into every tree.

In the Fire Nation, revealing a child’s psychic connection to an animal is a whole elaborate ceremony, especially for royal offspring. Zuko has been hyping himself up for years about the cool animal he’s going to get. Then the day of ceremony comes, the royal family gathers, the entire nation watches with bated breath… and Zuko establishes a psychic connection with a giant toad.

Everyone goes home disappointed and angry, while Azula brags to her brother about her awesome connection with Komodo dragons that she established three years prior because she’s a damn prodigy. Consider Zuko’s day ruined.

Lastly, I’ll just throw out some ideas for the other characters –

Toph: Armadillo. It digs and has a plate armor. Perfect for Toph 😁

Ty Lee: Sealion. Why? You’ll have to read my Azula’s Kitchen Nightmares story to understand that 😅

Mai: Praying mantis. This is too easy. Mai would definitely have something that most people find scary and revolting.

Aang: Penguin. Hey, it makes sense that Aang would get a bird, right? Nobody said it couldn’t be a flightless bird… and we know from the show that Aang vibes with penguins.

Yue: Arctic fox. No particular reason other than arctic foxes are incredibly cute and so is Yue, so there’s a connection 😅

As well as Iroh, Azulon, Sozin, Roku, Ta Min, Ozai, Ursa, Hakoda, Kya, Kanna, Aang, Katara, Tenzin, Pema, Zuko etc – everyone who canonically have children.

You know who had no children we know about and yet – canonically – fucked a lot?

Or maybe the deviance aspiration since he is a vigilante. But there's both the "Public Enemy" route for that one which includes "having a declared enemy" as a goal (excellent). Then on the other hand the "Chief of Mischief" route that gives the tormentor trait describes as: Tormentor – Tormentors can sabotage almost anything, be it an object, or another Sim's best efforts. And that is also obviously great.

Border Collies are known for their loyal, intelligent, and energetic nature. They are affectionate dogs that make great family pets. However, their herding instincts can get in the way of socializing with strangers and they can be big barkers when on alert at home.

Aang: means “peaceful soaring”, was pieced together from Chinese characters meaning “peaceful” and “rise, raise”. Aang also derived from “akang” (from Indonesia) which is a word used to refer to one’s elder brother or one of his peers.

Very sweet, 10/10 I love Aang so much. He really is just a simple monk.

Katara: get ready for this one, her name means “droplet” (!!!) deriving from the Arabic word meaning “water droplet”.

This is so sweet. Katara is baby. I can just imagine Kya or Hakoda using “my little water droplet” as an affectionate name for her UGH. Cutie pie.

Sokka: Sokka’s name comes from the Japanese phrase "So Ka" which means "I Understand."

This suits his character SO WELL. I was imagining his name having to do with water considering he’s from the water tribe but his name being based more on the fact of how intelligent he is is honestly so much better. What a smart king.

Toph: the creators of ATLA actually named their earth bending character Toph because it means “tough”.

I’m joking, or I wish I was. Toph’s name isn’t actually an authentic Chinese name but it was written as 北方拓芙, giving her name the meaning "expanding lotus". I couldn’t find verification but Toph’s name definitely could have just been intended as a pun for the English word “tough”.

The meaning “expanding lotus” is absolutely beautiful and I find the symbolism of Toph being a lotus flower makes so much sense considering how they grow in dirty water or mud but are still considered such a beautiful, breathtaking, and pure thing of nature. This also suits how her parents treated her like some delicate thing even though she was content being in rough and not-so-fragile environments. When you put more thought into it, I think Toph’s name might be one of my favorites, even if it actually was just meant to be a pun.

Azula: We all know that Azula’s name means blue and why she was named Azula. Blue fire..

This isn’t surprising. She’s a manic baddie, I love her and feel so sorry for her. That poor, traumatized child.

Zuko: okay, Zuko’s name makes me laugh and cry because in Chinese the meaning of his name is either “loved one” or “failure”.

I also read this on Avatar Wiki-

“On his wanted poster, his name was written with the characters 祖寇, meaning "ancestor robber". In Ursa's letter to Ikem, Zuko's name was written with the characters 豎髙 meaning "vertical high" with the second character being a variant of "高".”

This is very suiting to his story and how people in his life view him but god does it hurt. I also feel bad for this little baby for his traumatic past, but at least he had people who gave him the chance at feeling loved unlike his sister oop :/

Yue: Her name originates from China and means “moon”.

If you haven’t heard of this one yet, I know, it broke my heart too when I found out. She went too soon. </3 Still a very sweet name for her in context of her destiny.
