it's both funny and a little depressing that the true measure of making it as an A-list actor is becoming a part of some supe franchise. and then you get to take part in these forgettable, bottom feeder movies that maybe requires you to utilize 10% of all the talent and range that you're capable of as an actor.

thinking about Bear Bailey and Nicky Cunningham starting this trend of character who's the 'fake nice guy', like everyone thinks they're so nice and wholesome, and it's feeding their own delusion that they're so very nice and deserve good things happening to them because they're so nice. in fact, they're so nice that their romantic interest can become so trapped in this illusion and starts to earnestly believe that she's not good enough for this 'fake nice guy'.

I love how the central themes of ATLA are all about the horrors of war, redemption, forgiveness, pacifism and other lofty ideals

okay, so the NATLA S2 finale wasn't as much painful as it was just a boring pale shadow of Crossroads of Destiny.

is NATLA Toph still supposed to be able to detect lies and deception? If so, it doesn't seem to work most of the time. Or well, these idiot writers just have a bad case of 'lol we forgot she could do that'.

I was complaining how there was no longer any interpersonal conflict within the group, so I guess I got what I was asking for at the end of Ep. 6. But the big falling out scene just felt gross and unpleasant, and poorly written because some of the arguments they made just seemed... really stupid? Also, the ganging up on Toph was nasty, especially Aang literally chasing her out? Aang was just an unlikable, nasty little dick to everyone.

Ok the story just became extremely stupid. Suddenly, Jet is the Gaang's only chance to discover the spirit scar that leads to Wan Shi Tong's library (conveniently relocated to Ba Sing Se). I'm sorry, but what makes Jet so uniquely qualified to find anything in a city that he's a complete stranger to.

I've always hated the concept of soulmates, like I just don't get the romantic aspect, it's actually somehow creepy but also too schmaltzy for me. so, it's funny to me that two stories I really enjoyed this year actually play around with the soulmate concept - Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen TV show and Until Then video game. My enjoyment comes from the twist these stories put on the concept.
