Also, it's nice to have some actual interactions between Suki and Katara. I can't remember them ever having a one on one in the OG show.

I can't remember really thinking about it that much during S1, but some of the acting on display is BAD. Mostly Aang and Sokka.

With Aang, it's not necessarily the actor's fault. They're just butchering his character by completely erasing the irresponsible jokester part of his personality. Everything about him is so severe, it just makes Aang really boring and generic.

With Sokka, yes, he gets some of the worst lines I've seen on TV, but then the actor just makes them even worse with his weirdly unnatural delivery.

Okay, I figured out what's going on with Sokka. His actor knows that the lines are terrible, so he's trying extra hard to lean in and sell them. The director really should have told the poor guy that it's not working.

Well, that was a pretty anticlimactic way to learn about Sozin's comet, just having this random schmuck explain it out of the blue.

Also, the Azula stuff is pretty unwatchable. The whole Ty Lee and circus scene is cut out entirely but then bizarrely referenced like new viewers should know wtf they're talking about. Also, no scenes with Azula taking Omashu, but a LOT of talking about it. Tell but not show, I thought it was the other way around.

Ngl, the first episode is pretty dire. Tell me it gets better, please.

So far the only good change I've seen in S2 is Suki joining the Gaang right away.

I don't think I've ever seen a more boring, plodding movie than Backrooms. I'm mad at myself for taking as long as 40 minutes to realize that nothing was ever going to happen in this one. Is this really what the broccoli top generation finds compelling or scary, a few well-lit hallways? Or maybe it's compelling characters they're afraid of.
