Dos & Don't When Seeking Advice From A Paid Service
Paid services such as Oranum, Keen, AskAPsychic, AskMeNow, Purple Ocean or Zodiac Psychics allow advisors to get paid usually by the minute or hour.
Free services are often found on Facebook groups and Tumblr.
I'm going to try to be clear and respectful. This is in no way an attempt to belittle or deter you from seeing advice. Just know how you approach an advisor can effect your experience and explain how you can save yourself some time or embarrassment.
1. PLEASE! Allow us to introduce ourselves. Do not start a chat immediately with your name, birthdate, your life story and your question. We are aware the time is ticking but it would actually save you some time by allowing us to properly introduce ourselves by briefly explaining what we do to help. I do so like this: Hello I'm Hadassah! I do full and complete card readings. All I need is your name, question and no extra info. This is so you aren't giving up unnecessary information and you can decide if I'm the right person for your question. Not all tarot readers are astrologists (I'm not so I don't need dob). Some people don't want full readings. I like explaining my cards instead of just answering questions.
2. Please don't ask how someone is thinking. We are not mind readers. Some of us might be able to but not all of us can tell you what someone is thinking in that exact moment. A tarot reader can pull a card and yes, give you an answer. The right way to ask is "how is____feeling about me".
3. Don't ask us to hurry up. Again, we are aware that time is ticking. Sometimes especially if we are using more than one deck to complete a reading, it might take us 20 to 30 seconds to come up with a way to explain to you that makes sense. I'm aware most clients want straight-forward black and white answers. I like using metaphors but find sometimes it just doesn't work with some people. I also have a thought processing disorder so sometimes I cannot formulate an answer in 2 seconds. That's why I use a book as a general guide.
4. Idol conversation (probably just my experience idk). While most of the time, they are good. I can get paid 15$ just to talk to another intuitive as a client about how important shielding is! If I'm not actually pulling more than 3 cards during the conversation, I will stop the client to ask if they have any more questions. I get some people just like to talk. But some of us actually Iike getting paid to do our work.
5. "Your cards are wrong". Do you think we get paid to tell you what you want to hear so that it can backfire on ourselves? Not exactly. Sometimes tarot will not make sense in that moment. Give it time. I mean that usually what the usage of cards are for right? "Fortune telling". So if they don't make sense yet some of it resonates or even doesn't resonate at all, expect a wake up call. What you're being told now might not make much sense but it will. I've had many clients come back to me this way.
6. "What is thier name?" Card readers cannot give names! Names like Karen, Gretchen, Becky, Hailey, do not appear in any kind of tarot card. However what we CAN DO is pull a card that best described the person in question. I use a pendulum, not all card readers do so sometimes I can confirm names but I get the most from drawing a card.
7. Just ask the question! Please formulate a complete an understandable sentence. Not something like "Brendan how he feels" or "my mom won't talk to me". Those are not questions. I have a thought processing disorder and some others might find it hard to understand what it is you're trying to say. Is it a question? It's not really clear. So then we have to waste time by asking you to correctly formulate your question so it can be understood.
Do you as a paid tarot reader have any more suggestions?
