tripped and fell on you - a 6167 au where prior to Mark's draft in 2010, for some reason, max is in winnipeg & he hooks up with mark. it's very self indulgent, but i love it

kate barlow ain't got nothin on me - a dennis cholowski / kole lind fic for the kraken (shut up i know that dennis isn't on the kraken anymore and kole is primarily with the firebirds okAY) cursebreaker, forced proximity au. it's fun! it's emotional! It's a lot!

29 - Favorite line/passage you wrote this year?

“Yeah,” Max says. “Ok. So, just give me that one thing then.” He squeezes Mark’s hand, rubbing his thumb along the outside of Mark’s knuckles.

“It wasn’t.” Mark starts, before they get cut off by someone coming down the hallway. He wouldn’t want to say that in front of anyone else. He tugs Max closer by the arm, pulling his arm up and kissing his bruised knuckles as the footsteps recede down the hallway.

When they can’t be heard anymore, he says. “It wasn’t just one thing. It was. I don’t know. You came out to see me, to check in before you took your shower. The way your hair looked wet, and the way it fluffs up as it dries. The way your suit shirt fits. The stuff you said in the presser. The way you smiled when you said it.” Mark stops himself, before he says more things. That’s probably enough to get the point.

“That’s a lot of things.” Max says. He leans his face in, propping his chin on their clasped hands. He leans in to kiss Mark on the apple of his cheek. It feels tender, delicate. Like if he pressed too hard, there’d be a perfect lip print on Mark’s face for everyone to see.

“It’s suddenly a big secret that I like things about you.” Mark says, trying to shake some of the tension off.
