.
You may decide to lend some help either with your money, or your food, or your experience, or your voice, or your social media, and there will be requests to help other great causes too, and as much as they deserve to be helped, sometimes - you will not be able to do it for the sole reason that you must focus on the cause at hand, and ensure *those* people are safe.
.
Choosing to help a *specific* problem, or a *limited* number of people is not a bad thing.
.
And I think those of us on the side-lines, must understand this, and give them the space to do what they are doing, instead of assuming the worst of them, and spreading our judgments around.
.
Because the last thing we want any helper to do is to quit, believing they cannot do much or doubting their goodness.
.
Also, equally important - all of us these days have got into the habit of apologizing for mentioning our struggles, because “there are those going through much harder times”. True. But all struggles are valid. There will always be those who are worse off, but that doesn't mean you don't deserve help.
.
Imagine if everyone who could have used a hand to be pulled up, kept their hands to themselves and suffered in silence - how much more worse off the face of the earth would be.
Right? 💛
