There will be always be a few bad eggs in any kind of community, that’s always a given especially on the internet, where people think that they can say whatever they want without fear of consequences. But you should also remember that among these, there will always be people who will support you and respect your vision for your work.

Do it for them.

Because more often than not, these guys are the ones who genuinely want you to succeed. They will be the first ones to give you constructive criticism and feedback, because they want you to improve and see you grow as a creator, not just because of some ship or character. They support you because they want to see you succeed as a creator, and honestly, they’re really the best kind of fans anyone could hope for.

On a different note, we opened the anonymous messages as a gesture of good faith months ago. But since people on this website really like to take advantage of that system (for whatever reason) and can’t seem to understand the concept of civility and respect, we will be turning it off. Some others know my full thoughts, but I have character based reason why I cant see this working or lasting long. While I am not saying it can’t, it would require a LOT of work from the two in general, and I’m not sure they are emotionally mature enough to do so without one side basically bending over backwards, kinda like what happened with Hannah and Luke.

The less…. enraging explanation is that Rebecca’s personal growth seems to center around the idea that she learns to move on. It feels reductive to have her suddenly get the boy. Additionally, a lot of Ashton’s character and story seems focused around how Isabella drives him, or her death. To have a sudden heelturn, even if the girl is dead, doesn’t seem natural. Perhaps given enough time to grieve? It has a better chance, but not how it happens in the game.

Also, the both of them are very… undeveloped when it comes to love (actually the whole scoobie gangare, but in different ways) and their problems clash harder then say if Zach and Becca became a pair (or Ashbella, my prefered one). Ashton has horrible self-doubt as well as is damaged from his life in general (Parents divorcing, seeing his mother at least pine after his father (the devs mentioned this), as well as seeing what happened to Professor Clark and how the man is still in mourning). His habits to fall back to what he knows and a very work-logic-based mentality would clash with Rebecca’s immature view on love, that being the more Fairy tale type as well as assuming that because she’s been in love with him for 17 years, she DESERVES his love. Key word being deserves, even though she never admitted it to him before a killer ghost forced them. She doesn’t want to accept that the human heart is fickle, and believes just because you’ve been there for longer, you have dibs. She’s waiting from him to make the first move or at least acknowledge her in that way, but Ashton is as dense as a Brick, encased in concrete, Enrobed in steel, and thrown into the middle of a pit of lava. It took nearly dying and an asshole named Luke to get her to take the first step. Even then things can go horribly wrong easily.
