Fun Fact: Genesis is incredibly thankful that fans mostly collectively refer to him as "Gen" and not "Genny"

well it definitely depends what age we’re talking but overall i think it would be hell for asg but it would go pretty smoothly, but by vague age ranges i think:

- baby zack: a sweet little angel, babbles a lot, but isn’t super fussy! i think he sleeps a lot, and is kind of noisy, but isn’t a big crier and just wants to be held and sleep for the most part! they divide the work between the three of them, although none of them have many complaints

- toddler zack: the worst nightmare you could possibly imagine… constantly getting into things, having a fascination with doing really dumb and dangerous stuff like trying to put knives in electrical outlets kinda dumb and dangerous, and he runs around everywhere and hides, he’s the nightmare toddler that people complain about basically! poor genesis is stressed out of his mind trying to find zack, sephiroth is running around to hide all the potentially dangerous things and cover the outlets, and angeal is trying to make sure zack stays in timeout because if he looks away for one moment zack will just vanish

Genesis would die. I think he would actually drop dead if that happened and/or just defect early. 😂

Also I feel like after Zack explains it, and Sephiroth is admittedly more curious than angry at the concept, he’d look to Angeal to try and get him to join in with the puppy eyes and Angeal would just be like “touching, but no absolutely not” as flatly as possible.

Zack truly did almost die. He was mostly given to the labs to give him a place to die where he wouldn’t suffer…except he recovered. He made a full recovery in a few days. That was…interesting to say the least. Hojo decided SOLDIER First Class Fair would have to stay here a while, maybe forever. They already had the death certificate made and all. It would be a shame to shred the nice fancy paper. 

Angeal, Genesis, and Sephiroth were devastated when they heard the news. They felt even worse that they weren’t told before, couldn’t see the body to say goodbye. According to anyone who knew anything about how Zack died didn’t have the information they wanted. It even looked like ShinRa didn’t want them to grieve. They were sent out on separate missions they day after they got the news. Sephiroth refused his for the first time ever locked himself in his apartment, looking at the last text Zack sent him. He didn’t respond to any calls except from Angeal or Genesis…until an unknown number popped up. 

Sephiroth would always suspect it was Zack’s Second Class friend…that or Tseng showing he actually had a conscience. The number just gave him a password and Sephiroth used it on all the databases he had access to, until it worked on the one in the labs. It led to an experiment log where scientists were talking about a Project Z, and potentially making SOLDIERs…less vulnerable. Sephiroth immediately suspected it was Zack. He knew it was probably grief talking, but he had to be sure. 

Angeal and Genesis agreed to meet him in Nibelhiem. They had met up in Gongaga to tell Zack’s parents, but made the detour. If Sephiroth was wrong, they should all tell Zack’s parents together.  Sephiroth found the secret lab like a half forgotten memory. It terrified him how familiar the manor was. Angeal and Genesis had never heard Sephiroth make a sound like that when they found Zack in a mako tank. 

They ignored all the warnings around him, all the alarms that blared. They just had to get him out of there. Zack looked too eerie in that tank: his hair had grown out and there were white streaks through it. Even worse was the scars all over his body. It looked like they were taking him apart and putting him back together over and over again. When the mako drained away, Zack woke up…and went crazy. He screamed and lashed out and didn’t recognize any of them at all, despite how hard they tried to calm him down. Finally, they got him held down as Sephiroth talked to him in a shaky voice.

Sephiroth vs. Genesis: Genesis is determined to get his wish (to one day be the best soldier in Shinra) and thus, in his aggression to get the bigger half, he ends up getting a nub. Sephiroth goggles at him while he fumes, not really even sure what to wish for now that he's won. What do regular people wish for? What's "normal" for normal people? He wouldn't know. He's never had ANYTHING normal in his life. His kind of a wish would be the sort of stuff normal people take for granted.

Angeal Vs. Zack: BIG PIECE FOR ZACK BIG WIN AW YEAH!!!! He immediately blows his wish by shouting it out loud (He wants a scooter so he can zoom around the office). Angeal grumbles and telling him that they're NOT getting him a scooter. Too expensive. And Zack will run someone over.

Zack Vs. Sephiroth: Sephiroth wins again. But gives Zack his bigger piece so that Zack can make his scooter wish come true. Sephiroth has decided that he does not need to wish for things that will never come to pass. He has what he wants right here with the people he cares about. And that is enough.

Zack Vs. Genesis: Genesis is all puffed up. He's GETTING HIS WISH DAMMIT. AGGRO YANKING!!!! FUCK YOU ZACK OUT OF HIS WAY!!! ....he loses again, of course. Zack is standing on the kitchen table cheering because WISH SECURED! Lazard is going to have a mental breakdown at the sight of his cool new wheels.
