Note: by “polite language” I mean "keigo", or honorific speech which is something you are supposed to use towards your superiors.

Zacks notably never uses keigo lol. He is not being “rude” per se for not using polite speech, just acting like everyone is his equal. He is randomly super polite to his friends’ parents in this comic tho lol

In case anyone wants to look it up: what Zacks uses is called "tameguchi". Literally translated it means "peer mouth", a language used amongst peers of equal status. It is also worth noting you might use tameguchi because of closeness. You'd be expected to use keigo with a person older than you but almost no one uses keigo with their parents--famously older than you lol. Not cuz you don't respect them but cuz you're close and ain't no one got time for that.
