When I started shipping them:like, before Iād even seen the movieā¦ Iād seen the trailer I think, and some press tour interviews and already I was in love with them, but I went into the movie expecting to be disappointed (with lou and deb, not the movie itself). like, I was preparing myself to have to squint really hard to see it but nope it literally jumped out of the screen at me. when debbie said ālou and I were going through a rough patchā¦ā I literally squealed because thatās relationship language, RIGHT? theyāre about as canon as it gets without actually being canonā¦Ā
My thoughts:okay, I have a lot of them. I literally love everything about their relationship. the way lou is skeptical at first about debbieās plan, but as soon as sheās in sheās all in, ride or die - how she throws herself into research, finding designers and hackers and pickpockets for debs, how when she talks about the heist to the rest of the group itās as if it were her plan too, her and debbie are so in sync. everyone acts like debbie is the leader but really the two of them are, together. itās debbieās plan but lou makes it happen. the way lou is the first person debbie contacts when she gets out (when sheās ready), how she doesnāt even consider staying with anyone else, how she trusts lou unconditionally, to help with this thing she really really needs to do. The fact that lou was part of the plan from the begining, the very begining, keeping her company in her mind as she planned and finetuned the whole thing over and over and over in jail. How it was lou there with her, always lou, every step of the way.
What makes me happy about them:the fact that they are best friends and soulmates and lovers and partners in crime. they literally have it all and honestly that is the dream. how lou looks at debbie. how debbie looks at lou. how they look together, as a couple (so freaking stunning, breathtaking, heartstopping). but actually, what makes me happiest is how theyāve inspired a whole community of incredibly talented fans making artwork and writing fics and giving them life after (and before) the movie.
What makes me sad about them:mmm, the fact they werenāt actually canon in the film. like, they were so so close, all it wouldāve taken would have been a couple of lines, one sceneā¦ the set up was all there, nothing about their dynamic in the rest of the film would have had to change. it makes me sad because it would have been so easy to do but they didnāt. on a character level, what makes me sad is how something went wrong, brought them down, twisted their relationship to a place where debbie felt she needed (or wanted) to go to claude. and thinking about lou during that time. and during debbieās time in prison.
Things done in fanfic that annoys me:okay, this is just purely who I am, and itās not that it annoys me, just that i donāt enjoy reading it, and that is lou and deb having kids. I just have no interest in children and I donāt plan on having them, and I think itās so rare in media to see woman not having children, so I live for that represenation, and so I love the idea of badass debbie and lou living their wonderful, enriching, meaningful child-free life.
Things I look for in fanfic:honestly, as long as itās well written, I will pretty much read most things. I super love a good multi-chapter so I can get really invested, but Iām also down for a great one shot. I love angst and fluff and smut, and I love character development, and backstories and AUs. I love it all basically. I read pretty much everything on AO3

Who Iād be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: no one. okay, actually I would be happy for either of them to have a thing with tammy, as long as eventually they end up together. they need to grow old together. (or lou miller could end up with me, Iād be cool with that too. sorry debbie)
My happily ever after for themliving together in louās loft, going on lots of road trips on the back of louās bike, running the occasional big heist just for the thrill, lots of sex and lots of happiness <3
