I have great news, my good beans! I finally finished a DTIYS by the incredible gin.robbins over on Instagram despite my ongoing artblock. I added quite a few things in an attempt to shake myself into gear again, but I believe her mysterious and spooky flapper remains mostly recognisable! Enjoy the linework, also.

Just speak. The first thing that comes to your mind. The first impulsive, instinctual chain of words your tongue decides to form. Who cares if you’re right? Who cares if you know what you’re talking about? So long as you believe you’re right. So long as you feel you know what is best. 

For so long he conducted himself that way, and some days he still did. It was so easy to do, but now… Now that might finally be back firing. 

Louvel stared at the letter on the table, eyes gliding over each word written for what felt like the hundredth time. It was just a letter. Just an update on things. Nothing to be worried about. 

Yet something uneasy formed in the pit of his stomach, coaxing an anxious tingle to run along the base of his skull. Something was off with this. Something wasn’t as it should have been. 

He turned the letter over, viewing it from all sides and all angles. Nothing there helped him. What was he meant to do? Try the linkpearl? Vent off whatever echo of paranoia it was that seeped into his skin? He had given her plenty of warning, but she made her choice. He kept nothing from her. Spider knew what she was getting into.

Things would be fine. It was so easy to convince himself of that before. Everything had been fine. He hadn’t been wrong to let the ink stay. They did learn something. They were possibly going to be learning more. But was it worth it? 

His index tapped with restless agitation. What song was it Araignee was hearing? Why didn’t she wait for help? The letter was once more inspected. Maybe it was worth trying to contact her, to remind Spider that she shouldn’t be doing these sorts of things alone. That she needed to keep herself safe. Was he over worrying? 

With a quiet curse, Louvel sat up, rubbing his hands over his face. He needed to have faith that Spider could handle herself. He needed to have some trust that she knew what she was doing. He wanted to believe he knew better, but that wouldn’t be helpful now. 

Now was a time to hope for the best and prepare for the worst.
