Are you sure everything is packed? Yes mom, I checked three times already. My mom kisses me on my forehead while she hugs me for the eighth time this morning. Mom it's ok it's only six days, and my four friends have everything packed also. I said. With all the stuff we had it look like we were moving in the damn forest. As I was about to say something about how I'm thankful that my mom is letting me do all of this, my period app’s notification goes off. LOUD. Are you on your period Kamila ? My mom says . No not right now I think i’ll probably next week because I haven't gotten it in three weeks. Well okay but please make sure to take some pads with you. Okay here's the thing with my mom, she's not actually my mom nor is she my stepmom, she's my foster mom actually And she adopted me last year At the age of 15.
What happened to my old parents you probably wondering, I was with my parents coming back from a basketball game. From a different school that my friend Devin was competing against. My mom and dad were talking about our upcoming vacation. I forgot what they were talking about because I had my earbuds. I remembered my dad making a joke about me paying the gas for the car because of the long car ride back home, I started to drift to sleep but I heard a chilling scream from my mom, before I could even process what was happening. Everything went black. They had died in a car crash and I was the only survivor. It had taken approximately over 40 minutes for an ambulance to arrive at the scene. 40 minutes of agonizing pain and having to stare at my parents' dead body, I tried to look away but the position my body was in and the lights from the other car that we collided in made it worse, so much worse.
I was in the Foster care system for 2 years, Surrounded by kids that were doing drugs and And kids that are in gangs. The first two weeks In the system I had snitched on a kid I saw selling( like a dumbass ) and he had Two girls beat me up and I was silent ever since, until Gloria and Callum Adopted me. I had never been happier to have parents support me and care for me.

Okay sounds good. I started up my car they got for my birthday last year, it's a cute little toyota convertible beetle from 2004. and it has been the best thing anybody has gotten me ever. Once I saw it I could not stop thanking them for the life of me. They acted like it was nothing. But I had forgotten that I was in a wealthy neighborhood with wealthy foster parents. And i was really happy that they did not give me an overly expensive car, im very simple in what i ask. I have learned to be grateful for little things, since my biological parents had raised me in a trailer my entire life. I was very appreciative of what I had. I wasn't spoiled. I had always got them decent or good grades and they had been very thankful for that.
We did not go far, we had only gone across the city which is like a one hour drive. The other hour was dedicated to picking up my friends. Devin, Adie, Ava, I met them last year in high school Another person I met there was my girlfriend Hope.

I get out of my car and take a deep breath, letting all the fresh air in my lungs. guys we should separate and gather wood for a fire tonight because even though we do have lanterns we should do a little fire. The reason we actually did this trip is because all of us decided to record the amount of time we've been on our phone for one week and it was absolutely terrible. Literally the lowest screen time was 50 hours. The highest screen time was just actually sad. So we decided it'll be best if we do a camping trip to revoke our screen time.

Yo i got service back, Devin says. Nice i say i go check my friends stories and it's the same thing they post But one story alerted me. If there was a story of a person talking about something and then in the distance a large object flew past some very fast into a forest. But the weirdest thing was there was no crash there was no explosion there was no sound no anything.
It was properly an asteroid. Yoo what was that. Addie said. At that moment a huge white creature that's ribs you can see, and it has no eyes, no hair and no mouth but a black circle ADDIE LOOK OUT I scream. But it's too late. I hear addies scream in pain as the creature digs in her arm deep, drawing blood from her arm. Devin and Ava run but get grabbed by 2 more creatures. I grab a piece of wood on fire and jab it into the creature's neck. It lets out a screech and I cover my ears in pain. I hear Addie screaming let's go.
COME ON K LETS GO . I yell at kamila. I'm still bleeding and I still see Devin and ava. I grab a knife and punch it in the aliens eyes and stab it over and over and over until my hand hurts. Instead of blood it's a dark purple. I can now confirm the alien is dead when it falls on the floor.
Oh my god your face. Kamila says. Its alien blood. Come on let's go get dev and ava. I grab my bow and aim it at The aliens. WHY THE HECK DO YOU HAVE A BOW. Kamila screams. Cuz for deer. I respond .The bow go’s flying at an alien and the alien explodes on impact sending guts flying at every corner possible drenching ava in alien blood. I grab another bow and shoot it at Ava’s alien. And the same thing happens. RUN I scream. I hear the aliens' body parts get back together as the flesh connects them.
As we get in the car. Kamila tries to turn on the tesla.
It won’t turn on. Hold on, I have an idea. Devin gets out of the car. Turn off the car. Why? Kamilakamila says. JUST TURN IT OFF. he yells. Kamila turns the car off and Devin gets in the car. What do we do? Just stay put. Devin says.
Devin, I am bleeding everywhere. We have to leave. I'm going to turn on the car but I'll keep it stealthy. Just as we start driving, a huge beacon light comes from above us. . everyone out. Ava says. Why? I ask . Because this car is going with them. Who? THE DAMN ALIENS. We rush out the car and I look at the ship . It looked like a pyramid. At that moment the car starts levitating. Run guys I scream. I grab a lighter from my bookbag and set a large piece of wood on fire. Throwing it at the light. And the ship's light turned off sending the car to hit the floor. There were lights still on the ufo and the pieces of wood set the ship on fire.
I run to the car and grab the lighter fluid and rubbing alcohol and throw them.
One by one. I flee the area and find dev, Ava & kamila. What did you do? Ava asks. I set it on fi- a huge explosion behind me sends me and everyone else hitting the ground. Knocking me out
I wake up to the sound of ringing coming from the explosion. Everything is on fire. All the trees are on fire. The car is on fire. Everything. Ava, devin, addie. Where are you? I feel a pair of hands on my shoulder, it's Devin and addie and ava. Come on. Devin says. Ava what are you holding. An alien head.
A sound comes from the head. IT'S STILL ALIVE. Nah, it's been doing that for five minutes already. K-K-Kill all humans. The alien said. Ava stabs it in the head leaving more purple blood coming out. Ava cusses at the head. Okay let's go to the site. Addie how many bows you have. I have my entire set with me. Addie responds. Addie uses her crossbow everyday. She got it 4 months ago for her birthday.

Ava, is it still alive? I ask in a tired tone. Yes it's awake, i shoved a knife in its mouth so it does not talk. Ok, Devin, addie, you guys okay ? yeah they reply in sync. We have made it to a farm. It was around 2 am. Guys, let's go into that barn over there. I open the barn door and walk in. weird, there are no animals. Anywhere. I plop on the floor. Ava addie and devin sit next to me.
This was the most interesting day ever. Addie says filling the silence in the room.
Definitely creepy also. Guys if you need to go to sleep. I can stay up.
I hear a loud bang at the door waking everyone up. What's happening, Addie says. I don’t know. There's more banging at the door. The door is busted down sending everyone up. Outside there’s more aliens and a red light. Guys there's a ladder right there. Devin and addie climb up. Kamila help me please Ava screams. Grab my fucking hand. I scream out of stress. Addie, shoot at them. I cry out. Two bows are sent flying in their heads.
As expected they explode. Filling the room purple. Come on, I yell at Ava.
What is this room? Ava says. It's an adic. I replied. And just if anything happens. A hole is made in the roof. Devin walks over at the hole. DEVIN BE CAREFUL.
Addie yells. A red light fills the room and Devin starts screaming. Then vanishes. From my site. Then everyone vanishes from my site. I hear echo screams. The screams get louder. Then I heard a similar scream. I can’t control myself. I can’t stop sobbing. I hear the screams of the night my parents died. Stop it please. I scream. STOP IT PLEASE. I feel my body lifting up. No please no god no. I opened my eyes looking at the red light. I don’t do anything. I just look at the light.

That's when I noticed he’s sweating an insane amount. Wait, are you okay? I ask in a lower tone. We have to get out of here now. He says. Wait why, what happened out there. I see a fresh scar on his abdomen bleeding out. Holy sh- he covers my mouth, don’t make a sound right now. That's when a scream outside the elevator and glass breaking. And I hear more screams from the lobby. What is your name? The man asks me. Maddie I say. Okay im jacob and what you're hearing out there is an alien type creature , that's all i know. He says. Jacob says. How do you know? I say with a tear going down my face. Because I saw a guy get caught by them. He was pushed on the ground and the creature ripped his stomach open and started eating him. While he was alive? I murmur in horror. Yes, Jacob said morally. I press the level 9 button on the elevator. Where are we going? Jacob asks. To the restaurant. Why. he says. Well i have a reservation for dinner so me and you can eat and prep so we don’t get murdered. Sounds like a plan? Sure Jacob says. I get a phone call again from the same number from earlier. I decline it and turn it on do not disturb.
We arrived at the restaurant. a waiter walks up to us. Hello you are maddie? Yes, I confirm. Okay right this way. We follow him to a booth near the window showing a clear view of the city with chaos erupting above us. I see a couple of people get mauled by one of the creatures and someone tries to help them by stabbing the monster but it's too late. They're already dead. Oh my god I murmured.

I rested my head on the table and let out a sigh of relief. My mom had found out I don't like dating so she set me up for a date for me tonight but it's clear that that's not happening today. I see a couple run out of an elevator and I hear the window break . They had thrown a steel metal ball at the glass. One of them grabs an older woman and shoves her near the broken window. The woman lets out a scream of terror. Like I never heard before. Okay everyone listen up , the guy yells. one person every 2 minutes needs to be fed to the things below us or they get us all at once. Starting with granny the woman says. The couple drop the old woman out the window, sending her plummeting to the creatures. Everyone around us screams in terror. I get out of the booth and grab Jacob's hand and run into the kitchen. And where do you think you love birds? I stop in fear thinking I'm going to die just from getting caught. Please let me go, I plead letting tears go down my face. Let me think. He takes over six seconds. Fine he says but your little boyfriend stays. Hey, it's okay. Jacob says. Thank you, I tell him. I walk into the kitchen and find gasoline and a long kitchen knife. I walk back to the door and start slowly pouring the gasoline all on the floor in the restaurant but not the kitchen . After the two gallons are out I search for a mini knife which I find very quickly. I walk back out and walk to Jacob making sure to not slip on the oil. They dropped another person. Aw couldn't get away from your little boyfriend. The girl says. Well sit down because you're next. This time I didn't cry because of the mini knife in my sleeve. After about a minute. I'm up. Okay miss maddie your up. My stomach drops. Wait, how do you know my name? I look at Jacob and he looks away. Because your little boyfriend told me. I roll my eyes.
I'm at the broken window looking down at the city that is now flooded with bodies. But the people that were pushed out of the window are still at the bottom of the building. Dead though. HEY I shout. If your trying to feed the fuckers, why are there dead bodies still there, surely they would have been eaten. The room goes dead silent and Jacob day dreams into la la land. The couple stare at each other in confusion. Wait so there still there? The girl says in confusion.
