Day 7 of #nationalrecoverymonth and today, I help keep me sober. Sometimes nothing works. The essential oils, the yoga poses, the breathing, the reaching out, the coloring, the walk none of them. You gotta help yourself feel the overwhelm, the fear, the anxiety the desire feel it all and let it crash. Then just like the waves of the ocean it will all fall away again. But if I try to push the waves away faster I will get angry and frustrated and be super unkind to myself. Tonight I take a deep breath and wait because this to shall pass. It's day 1 of National Recovery month. I'll be sharing some of the things that keep me sober. These kiddos have eaten cupcakes, made volcanoes, beaten me at basketball, had sleepovers and infinite wrestling matches with me.
