Aouda is romantically interested, Passepartout is just really loyal and Mr. Fix is convinced Phil robbed a bank and is constantly plotting for his downfall. and somehow, that makes a family!

I didn't see it coming at all. I didn't see any chemistry. It was literally only for The Plot as a means to discover that he miscalculated somewhere along the way. Phileas Fogg believed he arrived back in London on Saturday evening but his sudden desire to marry meant he was actually a day early because he wanted to marry Aouda tomorrow, but that would've been Sunday, so he actually got back on the Friday and had gone around the world in seventy nine days.

I really enjoyed the novel on the whole (although some parts haven't aged well) and all of the characters were so well written, plus I'm a geography nerd so it was nice to read about how different travelling around the world was 150 years ago.
