Sweet little romance about a woman in 1920s Canada, who has led an extremely repressed life, and finally learns to live when she gets a terminal diagnosis. Filled with Montgomery's gorgeous descriptions of natural beauty and her hilarious observations on human nature.

From the Casson Family series, a childrens series about a family where all the children are named after different colors of paint. Permanent Rose is my favorite! She shoplifts. She sends her absent dad letters full of scary news to try to convince him to come home. She needs glasses but only uses them to look at the stars. She draws a mural on the kitchen wall of her family sitting on top of their house surrounded by sharks, and when asked where her dad is, she points at the sharks.
