i think it's rather telling when fans who hate Elain also hate Feyre, Rhys, Cassian, literally every main character who isn't Nesta, and the entire plot of the books. but they love the side characters with no personality because they can superimpose themselves/ideal traits without conflict.
fans who hate Elriel also beg for a Tamlin redemption arc (gross), want Nesta to leave Cassan for Eris (?????) and think the two main characters of the whole series should leave each other because x, y, and z. all they do is COMPLAIN. ABOUT. EVERYTHING.
and we should believe your theories for the next book because...why? why even hyperfixate on the series so much if you hate everything about it? the only reason i'm still in this fandom is because i genuinely enjoyed the books and i'm excited for the next one - however far away that may be. i can't imagine putting this much negativity into a fandom when all you want to do is change literally everything about it and elevate the side characters to god-status. exhausting existence tbh. find something else that you actually love and enjoy.

Where did the old fandom that I used to love interacting with back in the old days on LiveJournal? Times seemed so simple then. We may not have had the same ships or agreed with fan theories or interpretations, but it wasn't as intense and extreme as it is now. 💔🥺

11 years ago when I was active in the fandom, it was literally a virtual family, an escape from my own chaotic and broken family in IRL. It wasn't just the show that gave me hope on hard days battling family drama and severe mental health issues, it was the wonderful fandom that sure, had its differences but never was as toxic and black and white as it is now.
